According to information from the Customs Department, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister in Notice No. 341/TB-VPCP dated July 1, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 01/CD-BTC dated July 18, 2025 of the Minister of Finance, the Customs Department issued Official Dispatch No. 15405/CHQ-DTCBL on continuing to promote the work of attacking and suppressing crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infring on intellectual property rights.
On August 8, 2025, the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department issued Plan No. 489/KH-DTCBL to strengthen inspection and control of import-export activities and illegal transportation of goods across the border at Customs branches in the 17th and 20th regions. Implementing the plan, the Anti-smuggling Control Team No. 4 (Team 4) has proactively applied synchronous professional measures, grasped the local situation, identified and reviewed key subjects.
From July to September 2025, Team 4 presided over and coordinated with Drug Control Team No. 3 (Team 7), the Department of Online Customs Information and Inspection (Department 2) and relevant Border Guard Branches to conduct inspections, detect and arrest 3 cases of transit goods transportation with signs of violations:
July 30-31, 2025: Team 4 coordinated with Moc International Border Gate Customs to check the transit shipment of W.T Trading & Service Company Limited, and discovered 88 suspicious used mobile phones that did not show their origin. On August 8, 2025, the Customs Branch of the XVII region issued a decision to administratively fine 33.3 million VND and confiscate all exhibits.
September 16-17-2025: Team 4 coordinated with Binh Hiep International Border Gate Customs to inspect the transit shipment of B.P.G LLC (registered on September 11, 2025 at Mong Cai Border Gate Customs - Quang Ninh). According to the declaration, the goods are "Chinese fishing gear, 100% new goods", but in fact, inspections discovered 2,540 mobile phones suspected of being used and 2,550 pairs of children's shoes suspected of being counterfeit with the Louis Vuitton and Adidas brands.
September 23-24, 2025: Team 4 coordinated with Binh Hiep Customs to inspect the transit shipment of PYK Transport and Trading Joint Stock Company (registered on September 16, 2025 at Mong Cai Border Gate Customs - Quang Ninh). The goods declare that "Synthetic fabric clothes of Chinese origin, 100% new", but in fact discovered 2,360 mobile phones suspected to be used, bearing the brands iPhone, OPPO, HONOR.
Currently, the cases are continuing to be handled by the customs authorities according to regulations. The Customs Department affirmed that the above results demonstrate the determination of the customs force in tightening control of import-export activities, transit, preventing prohibited and counterfeit goods, protecting intellectual property rights and public health safety, not only during the peak month but throughout the performance of tasks.
