Deploying support of more than VND 241,000 billion in taxes, fees, charges and land rents for businesses
On September 30, the Ministry of Finance in coordination with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam organized a Dialogue Conference between the Ministry of Finance and Korean enterprises on tax and customs policies in 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan emphasized his appreciation for the great contributions of Korean enterprises to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
The Deputy Minister said: "Following the tradition of always accompanying and supporting people and businesses, in 2025, in the context of the domestic macroeconomic situation still facing difficulties and the global economy predicting unpredictable developments, the Ministry of Finance has urgently researched and submitted to competent authorities appropriate support solutions on taxes, fees, charges and land rents to apply from the beginning of 2025 with a support value of about VND 241,740 billion".

According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Finance is promoting digital transformation, administrative reform, and taking taxpayers as the center of service. In the tax sector, administrative procedures have been upgraded to the full-process Online Public Service level, with eTax and eTax Mobile. In particular, automatic personal income tax refunds will be applied from April 2025. Technology applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data are also strongly implemented in tax management.
With customs, the Ministry of Finance continues to promote digital transformation, procedure reform, AI application in the deployment of Chatbot, providing online public services, creating maximum convenience for import-export activities.
Vietnam - Korea cooperation continues to expand in scale and quality
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Vietnam and South Korea have become a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with economic, trade and investment cooperation playing a key role.
According to the Ministry of Finance, as of early 2025, the total registered investment capital of Korea in Vietnam reached more than 92 billion USD with more than 10,000 projects in many fields. These projects play an important role in exports and contribute greatly to the economic development of Vietnam.
To maintain an open investment environment, from 2008 to present, the Ministry of Finance has coordinated with the Embassy of Korea, KCCI and KoCham to organize an annual Tax - Customs Dialogue Conference. Thereby, many problems of businesses have been resolved promptly, while the new policies are clearly and transparently disseminated.
A representative of the Ministry of Finance said that the 2024 conference has brought about clear results when many specific difficulties of businesses were resolved on the spot, helping businesses comply with the law and ensure legitimate rights.
Commitment to creating maximum convenience for businesses
This year's conference continues to focus on a frank and substantial dialogue to address difficulties arising in the production and business of Korean enterprises related to tax and customs policies. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance provides full information about the new policies, helping businesses to implement them smoothly and ensure their legitimate rights.

Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Young Sam affirmed: Through this event, I hope an open, transparent and stable tax environment will be created, thereby encouraging new investment and expanding investment in Vietnam while helping Korean businesses with profits in Vietnam to declare honestly and conveniently.
At the conference, representatives of the Tax Department, Customs Department and units under the Ministry of Finance introduced the results of procedure reform, along with the content of new legal documents issued from March 2024 to present such as Law No. 90/2025/QH15, Law on VAT No. 48/2024/QH13, Law on Special Consumption Tax No. 66/2025/QH15 and related decrees and circulars. After the presentation, leaders of the Ministry of Finance and units directly discussed and answered the issues raised by Korean enterprises.
Based on the opinions of enterprises, the Ministry of Finance commits to continue researching and perfecting tax and customs policies, creating maximum favorable conditions for FDI activities in general and Korean enterprises in particular. The Ministry hopes that businesses will take advantage of opportunities to innovate, improve competitiveness, and comply with the law, actively contribute to socio-economic development and strengthen the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
