Winterberry is mainly imported from the US and the Netherlands. Unlike traditional Vietnamese peach blossoms, winterberry trees do not have many petals. The outstanding feature of this tree is the bright red berries that grow in clusters, creating a bright and fresh beauty. Therefore, winterberry quickly became the top choice for home decoration during the Lunar New Year.
This flower prefers cold climates, so growing and caring for winter peach blossoms requires high techniques and special environmental conditions. Furthermore, the process of transporting flowers to Vietnam is quite complicated; flowers need to be preserved in a cold environment to maintain freshness, which increases costs and makes importing difficult. Therefore, very few traders dare to risk trading red winter peach blossoms in Vietnam.
According to Lao Dong, the selling price of red peach blossoms ranges from a few million VND for small trees and can go up to tens of millions, even nearly 200 million VND for large trees with many fruits and beautiful shapes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hao - owner of a flower stall in Nam Tu Liem (Hanoi) shared: "I find this winter peach blossom new compared to the Vietnamese Tet flower market. Every year, everyone buys peach, kumquat, and orchids, so I want to bring a new breeze to the market. Currently, I am piloting a stall in Me Tri (Nam Tu Liem) to measure consumption."
The first standard for importing winter peach blossoms is choosing the shape of the tree, with three basic styles: bonsai, straight and round. To ensure quality, winter peaches must meet the standards of shape, size and quantity; the fruit must be round, not deformed, and of uniform size on the branch.
At Mr. Hao's booth, there are three product segments: popular products (2-4 million VND), strategic products (8-10 million VND) and high-end products (tens, even hundreds of millions of VND), suitable for the needs and economic conditions of each customer group.
Mr. Hao also expanded the market through social networking platforms with products ranging from 2-4 million VND, to promote and build the brand. According to Mr. Hao, at present, customers mainly buy to give as gifts or decorate in agencies and offices.

According to the booth staff, the current cold weather in the North is very favorable for the development and preservation of winter peach blossoms. Customers only need to water the trees regularly, and the trees will grow well, with the advantage of lasting a long time, and can be enjoyed for many days.
To choose a quality peach tree, buyers should pay attention to choosing branches with bright red, plump, uniform-sized fruits. The branches must be strong and not crushed; the leaves must be green and free of pests. The size of the tree must also be suitable for the decoration space. The time of purchase is very important, do not buy too early to avoid flowers blooming and fading quickly, while buying too late can cause uneven blooming.
The bright red color of peach blossoms is not only a symbol of luck and wealth but also represents reunion and family reunion during Tet. Although not as popular as other traditional flowers, peach blossoms still have their own charm, making them a unique choice for flower lovers this year.
