Speaking at the Finance Finance press conference of the Ministry of Finance on 3.4, Mr. Mai Son - Deputy Director of Tax Department - said that in order to promote administrative procedure reform, simplify the process, the tax industry has completed and put into operation the system of personal income tax refund (PIT) automatically submitted on the digital platform.
The new process allows taxpayers (NNT) to carry out all tax refund procedures via ETAX Mobile application. On the application, the function of "Suggestions of PIT finalization" will be automatically synthesized from the data of the income organization and the individual's declaration information in the year. Taxpayers only need to check the information, confirm and send the dossier, the entire process of receiving, processing and transferring payment data to the State Treasury is automatically carried out.
According to Mr. Mai Son, the implementation of this process demonstrates the comprehensive digital transformation efforts of the Tax sector with the goal of "Taxpayers are the center of service". Not only helping to reduce time and effort for people, the new process also improves transparency and accuracy thanks to connections with the National Population Database and related information systems.
To ensure effective operation, taxpayers need to fulfill a number of basic requirements: install and use the eTax Mobile application to track personal tax obligations; fully update identification information, including dependents; and proactively re-check the information in the suggestion statement. In case of adjustment, the system will automatically compare data between personal declaration and aggregated data to support quick review and processing.
Mr. Mai Son also recommended that people be honest in their declaration to ensure their legitimate rights and avoid legal risks. "The Tax sector will use information technology to post-inspections, recover incorrect tax refunds and handle violations according to regulations if fraud is discovered," he said.
To support taxpayers in the 2024 settlement period, the Tax Department has directed its affiliated units to implement many activities such as: training tax officials, setting up hotlines, assigning officers to receive and handle feedback, and at the same time promoting propaganda and instructing people to use digital platforms in tax declaration and refund.
The tax industry expects that, with the companion of the people and the synchronization of all levels, the automatic PIT refund process will contribute to improving the effectiveness of tax management, transparency of administrative procedures and improving the quality of public services in the field of tax.
