The feelings of a 91-year-old martyr's wife
On June 10, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nien (residing in Boc Nguyen village, Cam Due commune, Ha Tinh province) recounted that in 1956, she married Mr. Nguyen Sy Nien. In 1957, she gave birth to her first daughter, Nguyen Thi Lien. When her daughter was only 4 years old, her husband enlisted in the army to fight and protect the Fatherland.
In 1963, her husband was granted leave. After this leave, she became pregnant and gave birth to another son named Nguyen Sy Vinh.
After that only leave, he returned to the battlefield. In 1966, I received a death notice, informing me that he had sacrificed himself on the Southern front," Ms. Nien recalled sadly.
According to martyr records, Mr. Nguyen Sy Nien's body was buried in a private area of the unit near the Southern front, his position when he sacrificed was Deputy Platoon Leader.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nien said that her husband sacrificed when she was just over 30 years old, a very young age. However, she did not remarry but stayed single and worked hard, working hard to raise her children to adulthood.
Over the past time, Ms. Nien's family has contacted and searched for the grave of martyr Nguyen Sy Nien many times but without results. Because, based on the death certificate, the content is very general, without a specific address to search for.
More than 10 years ago, a military unit came to the locality to organize taking samples of relatives to search for martyrs' remains, which gave me more hope about finding my husband's grave. But so far there has been no information," Ms. Nguyen Thi Nien shared.
Expecting from the 500 Days and Nights campaign
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nien shared that through watching TV and listening to the radio, she learned that the Party and State are currently focusing on implementing the "500-day and night campaign to promote the search, collection and identification of martyrs' remains", which makes her very happy and more hopeful about finding her husband's grave soon.
“I am now old and weak, constantly sick, and I don't know how long I will live. Therefore, my earnest wish is that the Party and the State can find my husband's grave so that when I close my eyes, I can also feel peaceful and at peace,” the wife of martyr Nguyen Sy Nien confided.

Mr. Nguyen Sy Vinh (63 years old, son of martyr Nguyen Sy Nien) shared that he is also very concerned that his father sacrificed himself 60 years ago, but so far the family has not found the grave.
The hope and wish of Mrs. Nien and her children is also the aspiration of hundreds of thousands of families with martyrs whose remains have not been found and whose identities and information are unclear.
