The Chung cake offering ceremony to express gratitude to Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan is a meaningful cultural ritual held at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan (Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province) to express gratitude and respect for the merits of her birth and upbringing - the mother of President Ho Chi Minh.
The ceremony is held at the beginning of Spring (usually on the 5th - 6th days of Tet according to the Lunar calendar) at Ba Hoang Thi Loan's tomb area. The place where her tomb is located is not far from Uncle Ho's hometown in Hoang Tru village.

The banh chung offering ceremony is an action imbued with the spirit of "drinking water, remembering the source", expressing deep gratitude and respect for President Ho Chi Minh's mother.
Banh chung is chosen as a ritual not only because it is a traditional symbol of Vietnamese Tet, but also a symbol of heaven and earth, associated with origins and the sincerity of descendants towards ancestors.
This is one of the unique cultural activities in Nghe An. This festival also contributes to educating the young generation about the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source", while honoring national cultural values.
