At about 5:00 a.m. on September 7, fishermen in Phu Trach commune (Quang Tri province) gathered in groups, using thin nets to attach iron frames to collect shrimp.
Thanks to the dense shrimp, the first nets are quickly filled, creating a bustling labor scene, the cheers of joy echoing throughout the beach.
Mr. Phan Ngoc Trang - Head of Dong Hung village said that in just a few hours of pulling the net, many households had earned millions of VND. "There are many shrimp this morning, everyone is excited" - Mr. Trang said.
Currently, fresh shrimp is purchased by traders right at the yard at a price of about 20,000 VND/kg; when dried, it can reach 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg. In addition to processing shrimp paste, a famous specialty of the Quang Tri sea area, shrimp is also used in many rustic dishes.
According to the Phu Trach commune government, the shrimp season usually lasts from July to October every year. The locality recommends that fishermen exploit it reasonably, ensure safety when going to sea and maintain environmental hygiene to maintain sustainable aquatic resources.
