On May 18, information from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power), the Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant Project (located in Ong Keo Industrial Park, Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District) completed the 24-hour continuous technical milestone at the ground load level with a maximum capacity of 812MW.
This is an important milestone in the process of preparing for commercial operation.
As of May 17, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant has generated electricity to the national grid with an output of about 74.5 million kWh.

After reaching this technical milestone, the EPC contractor will conduct cleaning, technical adjustment (tuning) to prepare for testing (testing), measuring guaranteed parameters (Performance Test) in the coming time.

Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant Project has a total designed capacity of 800MW. On February 5, 2025, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant officially connected to the national grid, reaching a capacity of 50MW in the first generation of electricity to the grid.
According to the plan, this power plant will be commercially operated in June 2025. This is also the power plant with the largest capacity in the South, completed and put into operation in the past 5 years.

Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant are the first two LNG power plants in Vietnam, with a total capacity of 1,624MW, a total investment of 1.4 billion USD.
When put into commercial operation, these plants will provide about 9-12 billion kWh per year to the national grid system, contributing to ensuring power supply for the Southern power system, while contributing to the realization of the goal of green energy transition and reducing net emissions to zero by 2050.
For Dong Nai, the project will supplement a stable power source for socio-economic development (the locality ranks 4th in the country in electricity consumption), expected to contribute about 17,000-18,000 billion VND per year to the budget; create many job opportunities for local people and promote the development of supporting industries and related services...
