On February 25, Mr. Doan Ngoc Co - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Gia Lai province said that the unit had sent an official dispatch to districts and towns to warn people about food safety issues in agricultural exports.
Recently, a number of enterprises and cooperatives in the area with agricultural products exported to the market such as Russia and Taiwan (China) have been warned of violations.
Green coffee products, bananas with pesticide residues detected, pepper products with Sudan discoveries...
According to Mr. Doan Ngoc Co, upon receiving the information, the department established an inspection team to trace the origin of agricultural products.
For the violating coffee orders, the enterprise is located in Gia Lai but purchases goods in Dak Nong province. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with the functional agencies of Dak Nong province to determine the address of the production and preliminary processing facilities for timely recommendations.
For pepper, through inspection, the functional sector of Gia Lai province discovered that the coloring was due to packaging containing contaminated agricultural products and chemical dyes. When people dried and contained pepper, the packaging product stuck to the goods. Import orders to Taiwan (China) were warned of violations and returned.
"The returned agricultural products are small-scale, locally compared to the amount of exported goods in the year. Usually, shipments of colorants will not be returned, but currently in Taiwan (China), this regulation is stricter. Therefore, when the goods are returned, there will be damage to people and businesses, said Mr. Doan Ngoc Co.

Through the above incident, to improve the reputation and quality of agricultural products towards export markets, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requires localities to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations on ensuring food safety.
The relevant agencies need to strictly manage agricultural supplies, collection, processing and processing facilities in the area, absolutely do not use banned chemicals or toxic chemicals during production.
According to statistics, the whole province has about 256,000 hectares of crops of all kinds produced according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, 4C, Organic, Rainforest Alliance, FLO standards (accounting for about 43% of the total planted area).
Of which, nearly 60,000 hectares of crops are certified for production according to the above standards for coffee, pepper, tea, vegetables, tubers, fruits, rice, etc.
