Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang - Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion - Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the seminar was held within the framework of a series of national-scale trade promotion events "First Autumn Fair - 2025" chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, taking place at VEC, Dong Anh, Hanoi City.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, in 2025, facing challenges from global economic fluctuations and tariff policies, it is necessary to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, boost production, exports and improve the business environment to achieve high growth targets.
In that general achievement, there are important contributions to industrial promotion work, notably trade promotion activities that have supported and promptly supported rural enterprises and industrial establishments to overcome difficulties, promote production and business activities and develop the market.
"In the context of globalization and extensive integration, Green Transformation and Sustainable Development have become an urgent requirement. Industries must innovate technology, move towards cleaner production and apply a circular economy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang emphasized.
Recognizing the important role of innovation and green transformation, the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Public Upgrade organized a workshop with the desire to introduce policies, exchange and share experiences on sustainable development and green transformation in industries; introduce technology models and solutions, cleaner production and circular economy.Thereby providing solutions to promote green transformation in industrial production.
Ms. Tran Thu Hang, representative of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transition, said that the trend of sustainable development is becoming an inevitable requirement of the global industrialization process.
Ms. Tran Thu Hang emphasized: "Sustainable development is not only a long-term goal but also a mandatory path for the Industry and Trade sector to improve competitiveness, ensuring harmony between economic growth and environmental protection". According to Ms. Hang, in the context of extensive integration, Vietnamese enterprises need to consider green transformation as part of their development strategy, not just a requirement for compliance.
From practical implementation, a representative of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation said that the Industry and Trade sector is focusing on implementing a number of major policy orientations to promote sustainable development in industrial production. In particular, perfecting the legal system and technical standards on green production is identified as one of the key tasks, creating a legal corridor for the green transformation process to take place synchronously and effectively.
Along with that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is promoting programs to support businesses in innovating technology, improving productivity, reducing emissions in the production chain; encouraging the development of a circular economic model, effectively using energy and resources.
On that basis, the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation has proposed 5 key groups of solutions to promote sustainable development and green transformation in industrial production. The groups of solutions focus on perfecting legal policies; enhancing the application of science and technology; developing green human resources; expanding international cooperation; and raising public awareness.
According to Ms. Tran Thu Hang, first of all, it is necessary to perfect the national legal policy framework, as a basis for ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to proactively implement sustainable development programs and models.
The representative of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Transformation also said that financial resources are a key factor helping businesses implement sustainable production models and innovate in potential fields. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen communication and training activities to raise awareness of businesses and workers about sustainable development in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
