General Secretary To Lam affirmed: The world today is moving very quickly and deeply. We are entering an era of three major transformations: Green - Digital - Human Resources; simultaneously facing many traditional and non-traditional security challenges: climate change, supply chain disruption, technology competition, misinformation, cyber violence, and new risk of inequality. At the center of those changes are people - and women have a particularly important position.
In the digital economy, women are the most users of digital services in the family, the financial director of household consumption, and the one who teaches children the first digital skills. In the green economy and circular economy, women are the force that organizes green consumption, classifies waste, saves energy, and spreads a sustainable lifestyle. In the care economy of an aging society, women shoulder the majority of the burden of taking care of children, the elderly, and the sick a social security ecosystem that needs to be viewed as essential infrastructure. Therefore, investing in women is investing in national productivity, in the future of the nation.
The Party and State always consistently promote substantial gender equality, expand opportunities for women to participate in leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, science and technology; perfect the social security policy system, protect women and children, prevent domestic violence, gender-based violence, cyber-based abuse; care for preschool education, maternity, reproductive health; build a healthy and safe cultural environment. However, the policy only truly comes into life when there is a mass movement, there is a creative way of doing things, there are specific results, measurable and replicated. That is the mission of the Vietnam Women's Union in the new era.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central organizations, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Women's Union emphasized: The 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union is an opportunity for the whole Union to look back on the exciting emulation journey, spread advanced examples, and at the same time add motivation to enter a new stage with a higher determination. The Congress also affirmed that Vietnamese women are not only a force in response but also a pioneer in the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to the realization of the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
Carrying out more than 20,400 works/work in the Special Emulation Round
In order to promote the patriotic emulation movement to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union towards the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, practically celebrating the anniversary of major holidays of the country, the Central Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union launched a special emulation campaign to achieve achievements to celebrate the anniversary of major holidays of the country, the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union.
Taking place from February 3 to August 31, 2025, the Emulation period received enthusiastic responses from Associations at all levels and women of all walks of life, creating strong motivation, arousing the spirit of solidarity and creativity, affirming the important role and contribution of women in building and developing the country.
100% of Women's Union of provinces, cities and units organized a special emulation campaign and registered to implement at least 1 project/work in response to the Special Emulation campaign. District and grassroots levels, based on actual local conditions, units will select content and methods to respond to the special emulation period in accordance with their abilities and conditions; actively mobilize members and women to contribute to building Shelters of Love, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for members and women. Many provinces, cities and units have had good and creative ways of implementing the emulation campaign, bringing many practical and effective results.
Summary of the Special Emulation Round, Women's Union at all levels has carried out more than 20,400 projects/work, including: implementing more than 5,000 projects and 15,400 tasks; building 1,700 new and repairing more than 1,000 Shelters of Love with a total value of projects/work worth nearly 267 billion VND. Women's Union at all levels has discovered, commended and promoted tens of thousands of typical advanced collectives and individuals in all fields.
The Central Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union selected and awarded Certificates of Merit to 95 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the special emulation campaign.
Awarding the 2025 Vietnam Women's Award
The Vietnam Women's Award is an annual national award presented to individuals and groups of Vietnamese women with outstanding talents and achievements in various fields of life.
Established in 2002, the Vietnam Women's Award is one of the most prestigious awards, honoring the dedication, talent, and creativity of outstanding women's collectives and individuals in all areas of social life, contributing to promoting gender equality and progress of Vietnamese women.
The award has become a source of pride and great encouragement, arousing the desire to contribute of generations of Vietnamese women on the journey for gender equality and sustainable development of the country. Over the past 23 years, 107 outstanding collectives and 206 individuals have been honored in the fields of: economy, education, health, agriculture, scientific research, State management, security - defense, arts, culture, sports, etc.
In 2025, the Women's Talent Award Fund received 48 excellent individual and collective nominations from 07 Ministries/sectors, 3 socio-political organizations, 15 Provincial and Municipal People's Committees, 2 National universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Management Board of the Women's Talent Award Fund organized the award ceremony for 15 collectives and individuals who won prizes in 2025.
The honored collectives and individuals are managers, excellent doctors, doctors, scientists, exemplary farmers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces who have had many outstanding achievements, bringing efficiency and practical benefits to the development of the economy - society, science - technology, national defense and security...
