According to Mr. Nguyen Son, this is "a historical milestone after many years of efforts by the Government, management agencies and the entire market".

Along with the development of the stock market, the investment fund management industry has also made important developments. As of the end of June 2026, the whole country had 43 fund management companies and 141 securities investment funds. The total value of managed assets of investment funds reached approximately 93 trillion VND, equivalent to nearly 3.6 billion USD.

If including the investment entrustment portfolio, total assets managed by fund management companies reached approximately 846 trillion VND, equivalent to 32.5 billion USD.

According to Mr. Nguyen Son, after 30 years of construction and growth, the Vietnamese stock market has made important progress, becoming an essential medium and long-term capital mobilization channel for the economy.

However, for the fund industry to truly become a solid pillar of the capital market, Mr. Son believes that investors need to have reliable, objective and transparent reference tools to identify, evaluate and select suitable investment funds.

Fourth, improve the competitiveness and operating standards of fund management companies, associated with the application of science and technology, transparency and professional ethics. Companies need to improve management quality, risk management, portfolio analysis and management capacity; strictly control risks related to asset valuation, liquidity, interest conflicts and investor asset management.

On the management agency side, the SSC will continue to strengthen supervision based on risks, improve supervision efficiency and strictly handle violations.

Fifth, continue to promote propaganda and dissemination of knowledge to individual investors. The content focuses on the characteristics and operating mechanisms of each type of fund, risk level, cost, liquidity, product selection methods and asset allocation principles.

Sixth, proactively integrate internationally and attract long-term investment capital flows from global financial institutions. According to the Chairman of the SSC, Vietnam's upgrade by FTSE Russell creates conditions for the market to access more deeply international capital flows.

We are not only aiming to attract investment capital flows according to indicators, but also need to gradually attract active and long-term capital flows from investment funds, asset management companies and large financial institutions around the world" - Ms. Vu Thi Chan Phuong emphasized.
