From July 16 to August 15, 2026, the Hanoi Market Management force inspected 562 cases, handled 513 violations, with a total fine of more than 5.14 billion VND and transferred 9 cases with signs of crime to the investigating agency.
Unscheduled inspections more than double
According to the Hanoi Market Management Department (QLTT), in the above period, functional forces inspected 562 cases, an increase of 284 cases, equivalent to about 102.2% compared to July 2026. Of which, there were 554 unscheduled inspections, accounting for about 98.6% of the total number of cases.
Through inspection, the Market Management force handled 513 violations, an increase of 271 cases, equivalent to about 112% compared to the previous month. Notably, 9 cases with signs of crime have been transferred to the investigating agency for further verification and handling.
The total amount of administrative violation fines reached more than 5.14 billion VND, an increase of about 93.3% compared to July. The value of confiscated goods is over 808 million VND, a decrease of about 25.1%. Meanwhile, the value of goods forced to be destroyed and to remedy consequences is more than 2.072 billion VND, an increase of about 35.6%.
The results show that market inspection and control work in August 2026 was deployed with high intensity, mainly in a sudden form, focusing on signs of violations arising in the area.
Many violations from fake LPG to e-commerce detected
In August, a noteworthy case was discovered in the field of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Market Management Team No. 14 coordinated with the Economic Security Department, Hanoi City Police to inspect 5 LPG production and business establishments.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered many fake LPG bottles, LPG with signs of being fake goods and 1,645 anti-counterfeit stamps. Due to the case having criminal signs, all dossiers and related goods have been transferred to the Police agency for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
Regarding smuggled cigarettes, the Market Management force discovered and handled 2 cases, administratively fined 11.5 million VND, and seized 29 packs of smuggled cigarettes, worth about 940,000 VND.
Regarding e-cigarettes and heated tobacco, functional forces handled 2 cases, fined 41 million VND. Exhibits include 40 bottles of e-cigarettes essential oil and 20 e-cigarettes products, worth about 20.95 million VND.
In the field of e-commerce, the Market Management force discovered, inspected and handled 22 cases, administratively fined a total of 477.5 million VND. Tangible evidence of violations worth 128.34 million VND, including 4,278 ink bottles.
Regarding food safety, 7 violations were detected, inspected and handled, with a total administrative fine of 145.791 million VND.
The main administrative violations include: Doing business in food services without a Certificate of eligibility for food safety; using people directly processing food without wearing masks as prescribed; walls, ceilings, floors of production, business, and storage areas are waterlogged, cracked, and moldy;
Sewage drainage ditches in store areas and kitchens are not covered; storage of raw materials, food additives, food processing aids, and food products that are not suitable for the storage conditions stated on the product label or not suitable for the storage conditions of organizations and individuals responsible for the announced products,...
In August 2026, the Hanoi Market Management Department did not detect or handle any cases related to gasoline, N2O gas, minerals, pharmaceuticals, or traditional medicine.

The results of the inspection in the period showed that violations continued to appear in many fields, from goods with business conditions such as LPG, cigarettes to commercial activities in the digital environment.
In the coming time, the Hanoi Market Management force will continue to strengthen local management, collect information and inspect groups of goods and fields with high risk of violations, and at the same time coordinate with functional forces to strictly handle cases with signs of crime.
In which, continue to implement the 2026 work plans on key tasks; strengthen inspection and control of the market to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, intellectual property rights infringement, quality violations, conditional business; inspect and handle violations in e-commerce and on the internet environment.
