Continuously detecting and handling intellectual property violations
On June 25, information from the Nghe An Provincial Market Management Sub-Department said that in the past time, the unit has directed market management teams to strengthen inspection and control of the area, focusing on handling acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights infringement.
On June 9, Market Management Team No. 5 issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against business households represented by Mr. N.B. D, address in Luong Son commune, Nghe An province, for the act of trading in counterfeit goods of the "NTN" brand. The total value of the fine was more than 7 million VND, and at the same time, it was forced to destroy all violating goods.

Previously, on June 4, Market Management Team No. 5 coordinated with Luong Son Commune Police to inspect the above-mentioned business household, discovering 25 jars with NTN marks matching the NTN brand being protected in Vietnam. NTN marks are attached to products, and cannot be peeled off or removed from goods.
Also in the area under the management of Market Management Team No. 5, on June 18, the unit continued to issue a decision to sanction a car garage business household represented by Mr. N.V.K, located in Do Luong commune, Nghe An province, for the act of trading in counterfeit trademarks. The total value of the fine was more than 10 million VND, and at the same time, it was forced to destroy all violating goods.
In the area managed by Market Management Team No. 8, on June 8, the unit issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against the business household represented by Mr. P.D. S, addressed in Tam Dong commune, Nghe An province, for the act of trading in counterfeit goods. The total value of the fine is 19.8 million VND, and at the same time, it is forced to destroy all violating goods.
Improving professional capacity

Along with inspecting and handling violations on the market, the Nghe An Provincial Market Management Sub-Department also focuses on improving the professional capacity of the enforcement force. On June 17, the unit coordinated with the React Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Association and 15 representatives of rights holders of companies to organize a professional training conference on distinguishing real and fake goods, recognizing counterfeit trademarks.
Exchanging about the work of combating counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Nghe An Provincial Market Management Sub-Department said:
The Nghe An Provincial Market Management Sub-Department will continue to closely follow the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Domestic Market Management and Development Department and the Nghe An Provincial Department of Industry and Trade; proactively coordinate with functional forces and rights holders to promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of trading in counterfeit goods, fake goods, and goods infringing intellectual property rights, contributing to building a transparent and healthy business environment," Mr. Nguyen Van Huong said.
