Tourism towards APEC
Mr. Bui Quoc Thai said that in 2026, in addition to the goal of achieving figures on tourist arrivals and total revenue from tourism set out, An Giang tourism industry will continue to direct and coordinate with agencies to implement tasks to carefully prepare the conditions for coordinating to host the APEC 2027 Conference. The Department of Tourism is assigned to be the Standing Agency of the Sub-committee for Materials - Logistics and the Sub-committee for Protocol, which is a very favorable condition for all tourism activities to be organized closely linked to the image of APEC 2027.
In that spirit, the province identifies developing tourism associated with the marine economy and taking advantage of international events and cooperation, especially APEC, as one of the strategic breakthroughs to strongly attract tourists and investors.
Develop tourism in depth, quality, and professionally, linking tourism development with marine economy in a sustainable and branded direction; focusing on making sea-island tourism a growth pillar, associated with green growth: building high-class sea and island resort tourism products, MICE tourism, cultural experience tourism, while closely connecting with Nui Sam, Bay Nui spiritual tourism, river and water ecotourism and border tourism, forming a unique inter-regional product chain "mountains – rivers – sea", improving the competitiveness and spending capacity of tourists.

APEC 2027 in Phu Quoc is identified as a golden opportunity to promote image and promote tourism investment. The tourism industry will proactively integrate the promotion of destinations, calling for investment through international forums and conferences. At the same time, coordinate to organize regional and international cultural and tourism events, associated with the advantages of the sea, islands and diverse cultural identity of the locality. In parallel, it is the preparation of synchronous infrastructure, products, and tourism human resources according to international standards, ready to welcome high-quality visitors, MICE visitors and strategic investors in the context of APEC and major foreign affairs activities.
We always identify developing An Giang tourism associated with the marine economy and green growth not only as a task of socio-economic development but also as a political responsibility, an important goal in orienting the development of An Giang to become a comprehensive tourism center, connecting the sea - border - inland of the Mekong Delta region and gradually reaching out to the international community," Mr. Thai emphasized.
