Small businesses, not ready for digital transformation
On the afternoon of August 12, the Provincial People's Committee held a digital transformation conference in enterprises. At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Bac - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province - said: Ca Mau belongs to the group with lower enterprise density than average, small enterprise scale, mainly households; traditional production and business habits are still popular, the mentality of being afraid of change; digital human resources and technology management skills are limited; digital infrastructure is not synchronous, especially in rural and coastal areas; the level of digital transformation readiness of many enterprises is still low; the rate of access to support policies is not high, while the requirements of integration and competition require faster transformation.

There are currently 3,142 enterprises registered to use the .vn domain name in the province, accounting for 44.9% of the total number of enterprises. Of which, 167 enterprises and cooperatives have built e-commerce websites; 1,639 enterprises have deployed online Social Insurance declaration software; 12,712 VNPT-CA digital signatures, Smart CA remote digital signatures have been deployed for 4,872 enterprises.

In addition to advantages, the digital transformation activities of enterprises in the province in recent times have been limited, the level of application of digital technology in production and business activities is not much, and the potential and advantages of the Fourth Industrial Revolution have not been promoted.

Mr. Le Hoang Phuoc - Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Business Association - said: According to incomplete statistics, Ca Mau province currently has about 30,000 business households receiving training on e-commerce, but when implemented, only 2,200 business households, accounting for about 7%.
Enterprises cannot stay on the sidelines
Businesses frankly acknowledge that digital transformation still has many limitations. Therefore, instead of talking about the experience of transferring metrics to their businesses, businesses request the Provincial People's Committee and departments to support such as: Creating conditions, guiding businesses to promote their brands; announce support hotlines when there are cybersecurity incidents; training on e-commerce declaration skills; searching for human resources; OCOP product consumption chain...

Despite many difficulties, most businesses in Ca Mau province have high expectations for the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. The implementation of Resolution No. 57 of the Central Committee on the development of science, technology and innovation until 2030, with a vision to 2045, businesses in Ca Mau province have high expectations for this Resolution to create favorable conditions for institutions, technology, resources; improve competitiveness and productivity; help businesses quickly adapt to the new context and develop sustainably in the digital economy.
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan suggested that departments, branches and units, depending on their functions, need to support businesses more in digital transformation. On the contrary, businesses need to learn, approach, use, apply... digital transformation in their businesses.
According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, digital transformation is an inevitable trend, not only for businesses but also for governments and people who have applied information technology and digital transformation. If there is no determination, it will be difficult to successfully implement digital transformation.
