Walking along the streets at the end of the year, many people are constantly attracted by advertising signs with discounts of up to 50% on all products.
At a fashion store on Cau Giay Street, Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam (a primary school teacher) thought she would bring home many beautiful things for this winter at cheap prices. However, when she arrived at the store, Ms. Tam noticed that the discounted items were mostly summer items, inventories, and old models. On shelves, there are mainly small-sized retail stores, each model with only a few products will be subject to a promotion program of up to 50%. In contrast, newly launched products have a "drop" discount of 5%.


According to Ms. Tam, during the year-end discounts, she will also pay attention to the discount programs but also based on the needs of the family, no product will be lacking to buy that item.
"I mainly spend money on my children, my family has 2 friends, each of whom is of different ages. At each age, I will buy goods according to my needs. I prioritize buying Vietnamese products for children, from companies because of the good quality. For older children, around 5 years old, I will prioritize Quang Chau products because of the variety of designs and they will also grow up faster" - Ms. Tam said.
As a regular customer on e-commerce platforms to save time, Ms. Tam believes that online shopping platforms will have double-day discounts, and as a customer of Shopee Diamond, there are many discount codes that do not need to wait until Black Friday.
"Yesterday, my husband and I went to a men's fashion store, a familiar family address, but the Black Friday discount was not too much, buying online was even cheaper" - Ms. Tam added.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Head of a women's fashion brand on Cau Giay Street commented: "The number of customers during the week is quite sparse, the number of customers is mainly concentrated on weekends, it can be 5-6 times more. Promotional programs range from 5-50%, mainly with the deepest discount being summer fashion. This is the changing seasons, the store will prioritize reducing these items more".
Compared to this time last year, Ms. Nhung said that this year is somewhat more vibrant and stable. In 2024, this store is often bustling before and after Black Friday discounts, while this year it is somewhat more explosive.
Continuing to survey stores on Kim Ma Street, Hanoi, signs and advertising banners for Black Friday are constantly hanging up.
Ms. Vu Quynh Trang - an employee of a store on Kim Ma Street informed that the store has launched discount programs for Black Friday since November 5. However, the number of customers coming to the store is mainly out of curiosity, the number of purchases has not fluctuated much.
"Although the main Black Friday day is November 28, stores are rolling out many programs 1-2 weeks in advance. The deepest discounted product often attracts the attention of buyers. In addition, the number of customers buying online is quite large, when the discount program is applied similarly" - Ms. Trang said.
A busy place lining up to "close the deal"
According to the reporter's records, at shopping malls such as Vincom Royal City, Aeon Mall in Hanoi, ... retail stores were temporarily opened, attracting a large number of customers to visit.


Mr. Tran Cong Thanh (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) took his family to shopping centers for entertainment on weekends and said: "My family members and I are looking forward to the year-end discount. Today, when I went to the shopping mall with small stalls of big brands, I was surprised by the deep discounts, especially for household items. For example, a microwave costs 8 million VND now costs only 4 million VND, I also pay because the price is good".
Sharing with reporters, the staff of the booths said: "The launch of promotional programs right in the halls of shopping malls has caused a sudden increase in the number of customers interested in watching and buying. Revenue has grown strongly, employees like us are running at full capacity".
