The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on July 23 just issued a decision approving the results of evaluating and ranking products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program phase 1 in 2026. Accordingly, the whole province has 58 products recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3 to 4 stars.
Among these, there are 14 products that meet 4-star OCOP standards, including 2 newly evaluated products, 11 upgraded products and 1 re-evaluated product. In addition, 44 products meet 3-star OCOP standards, including 19 newly evaluated products and 25 re-evaluated products.
In the group of new 4-star standard products, there are smoked Sa Pa sturgeon and Sa Pa salted salmon of Le Trung Thuc Business Household (Thuc Mai Salmon Farm, Ngu Chi Son commune).
For the product group upgraded to 4 stars, many specialties of Lao Cai continue to affirm quality such as dried Sa Pa shiitake mushrooms, Ban Lau - Muong Khuong pineapple, plum wine lines, Viet Mountains apricot wine, Dai Phu An essential oil group, Yen Thanh instant bamboo shoots, Thac Ba crispy chili bamboo shoots...
In the 3-star category, many new products with strong local identity are also recognized such as Shan Tuyet A Mu Sung tea lines, rib sausage, Ban Xanh smoked meat, Chau Que cinnamon essential oil, Tu Le sticky rice cake, Tu Le sticky rice hot pot, Sau Chua Classic wine and many processed products from typical agricultural products of the province.

According to the decision, recognized products will be granted an OCOP Certificate, using the OCOP symbol and star rating on packaging, labels, and promotional materials as prescribed.
The ranking results are valid for 36 months from the date of recognition.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to notify the results to localities and OCOP entities; guide the use of OCOP symbols; support promotion and trade promotion.
At the same time, organize periodic inspections to ensure product quality after being recognized. OCOP entities are responsible for continuing to control quality, improve the value and competitiveness of products in the market.
