bold ideas from passion
In the context of many students still struggling to find an extra job, a young man has created his own career, achieving a dream income. Do Cong Tao (22 years old, Nhon Ai commune, Phong Dien district, Can Tho city), a second-year student at Nam Can Tho University, is not only financially independent but also develops a unique business model of raising baby bees to provide breeds for bee farms across the country.

Tao's bee farm, although only less than 500 square meters wide, is a "warm home" of hundreds of colorful beehives, neatly arranged under cool green trees. Each box is a testament to the passion and efforts of the young student.
Thanks to beekeeping, I have an income to cover my own study and living expenses, without having to depend on my family, Tao shared with a bright smile.
According to the sharing, his special passion for bees has been in the Tao since his 9th grade, at that time he started practicing beekeeping for honey. However, instead of following the traditional way of winning, Tao came up with a more daring idea of focusing on raising royal bees to provide breeds.
"The demand for buying breeding female reptiles of households is very high, especially during the herd season, while the supply of quality is still limited. Therefore, I decided to learn the technique and implement the royal bee farming model," Tao said.
At first, Tao mainly caught natural bees to purify and raise royal bibles for sale. However, this method does not bring high efficiency in the amount of honey. From 2023, he switched to raising Italian bees, a bee breed famous for its abundant honey, and at the same time created a queen bee for sale. After a period of persistent learning and accumulating experience, Tao successfully multiplied the herd with an impressive scale of more than 100 large honey boxes and 400 mini boxes specializing in raising royal bees.
A methodical process for creating royal jelly
cre creates to share more, the process of creating northern bees is carried out by him very methodically and scientifically. It all started with the stage of choosing a healthy, honey-rich herd of bees with good resistance to disease. He then created artificial buds with beeswax and parasites (taking Larvae from the breeding box) into these buds. The artificial buds were then put into the hamlet box.

About 10-11 days later, the bud will be cut to bring the queen into a mini box. About 12 days, the queen will bloom and go to the same way after about 10 days. In particular, every queen bee before being sold is strictly tested for the ability to lay eggs. The non -standard children will be removed to ensure the best seed source quality.
According to Tao, it is necessary for bee farms to replace royal apricot trees every year. "Every year after the honey bee is beaten, the royal bible get old, and the breeding rate slows down. Each royal jelly beak gives birth to 1,800 eggs or more per day and night. If this number is not achieved, the number of workers will be reduced, so the flock must be maintained to ensure productivity and the honey is harvested quickly and thickened," Tao explained.

The replacement period for royal jelly usually takes place after or before the beating period, around July to September. This is the period when rice flowers, cajuput blooms - ideal conditions for royal jelly to thrive, be fertile, live longer and breed more. "Therefore, large farms often replace royal jelly beans all year round to ensure productivity," Tao added.
To avoid the situation where bees lose their herd and get bitten each other, Tao also meticulously painted and calculated different colors for each bee box. "The bees miss the way to the nest. Therefore, when raising beehives with high density and close together, you have to paint them so that the bees can distinguish between flying nests, avoid collisions and bites," he said.
Stable income, development potential
Currently, every month, Tao regularly sells about 800 royal jelly beans for 200,000 VND/ bee. This source of royal jelly is provided to beekeeping farms across the country. During peak season, the number may increase. Thanks to this unique model, Tao earns a profit of nearly 20 million VND/month, a dream number for many students.
Not only covering the cost of studying and living, Tao's story is also a source of inspiration for many young people, proving that passion and bold ideas can lead to success.
