Smart agricultural model
From his passion for clean agriculture, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thai (29 years old, Thot Not district, Can Tho city) has researched and researched the process of raising black ant mushrooms and boldly chosen a high-tech solution to effectively cultivate this model.
Mr. Thai shared that in 2024, he rented a 50m2 plot of land in the center of Can Tho city and invested more than 250 million VND to build a closed mushroom farm.

The special feature of this mushroom farm is the automatic environmental control system using the Internet of Things (IoT). The entire planting room is built with specialized panel material, good insulation. A series of IoT sensors were installed by Mr. Thai to continuously monitor and adjust important factors such as temperature, humidity and light at the mushroom farm.
Thanks to that, the environment in the mushroom farm is always maintained at an optimal level, ensuring ideal conditions for mushrooms to grow stably all year round, regardless of the weather outside.

The application of IoT technology has brought impressive numbers to Thai mushroom farm. Compared to traditional mushroom growing methods, the productivity from the British mushroom farm soared from 30-40%. This not only comes from environmental control but also thanks to the ability to minimize disease risks. The 24/7 IoT system helps detect and adjust the minimum changes, reducing the infection rate by more than 30%.
Not only in productivity, the quality of mushrooms has also been significantly improved. The rate of type 1 mushrooms with large size, standard shapes and beautiful colors, reaches over 65%. This is an important factor that helps Mr. Thai's products always be welcomed by the market at good prices.
High profit on small area
Mr. Thai said that his mushroom farm mainly imports mushroom embryos from reputable establishments in Dong Thap province. After coating the coconut fiber muscles, about 20 - 25 days, the mushrooms start to harvest. In the following days, mushrooms are harvested and last continuously for 4 - 5 months. Each year, Mr. Thai develops 2 mushroom crops, with an output of up to 3.5 tons.

With a selling price ranging from 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg, Mr. Thai's total revenue from the mushroom farm reached a dream number. After deducting investment and operating expenses, the net profit this guy earns is up to more than 200 million VND/year. This is a large number for an agricultural model of just over 50 square meters.
Mr. Thai's mushroom growing model not only brings personal economic efficiency but also affirms the outstanding effectiveness of applying high technology, demonstrating the potential for smart agricultural development in the context of urbanization, contributing to raising the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.
