Bringing green transformation closer to the people
Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Hanoi City People's Committee organized Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's New Growth Model" at Cau Giay Park (Hanoi), with many activities such as electric vehicle experience, "gasoline to electricity exchange" and art programs to change community awareness about green transformation.
Continuing the Green Transformation Day 2026 will be a series of seminars and specialized workshops, highlights such as "Energy Transition - Driving Force for Two-digit Growth Goals" and the workshop "Removing Difficulties for Green Credit Capital Flows", held in June 2026. Assessing the Green Transformation Day 2026, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh said that this is not only a meaningful communication activity, but also a practical forum for management agencies, the business community, experts, and scientists to exchange and share initiatives, remove obstacles, and jointly spread the spirit of action for a green, rapid and sustainable Vietnam.

I agree with the framework of the series of events, Lao Dong Newspaper plans to organize forums on sustainable energy, green credit and policy talks. These are very practical contents, because to successfully transform green, there must be green capital flows, mechanisms to encourage green transformation and clear green criteria," Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh assessed.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang - Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving force for Vietnam's new growth model", the event has sent a very clear message: Green transformation is no longer just an environmental story, but has become a direct requirement for economic development, production, consumption and the competitiveness of the economy.
I highly appreciate the way the Green Transformation Day 2026 event is organized at Cau Giay Park, associated with electric vehicle display and experience and activities to encourage the transition to green transportation. This is an intuitive, close-to-people approach, helping people to see, experience and directly exchange about the changes taking place in life" - Ms. Giang assessed.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, the program being designed into a chain of activities with forums on energy transition, biofuels, green credit and green growth models also creates more real exchange space between management agencies, experts, businesses and the press.
These are all topics that need to be disseminated in an easy-to-understand and practical way, so that they are not only limited to awareness but gradually transformed into specific actions in production, business and life," Ms. Giang said.
Creating a forum connecting management agencies, businesses, and people
From an expert perspective, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang - Institute of Energy Technology (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) - said that the noteworthy point of Green Transformation Day 2026 is that it has brought the story of green transformation from the scope of policies and professional forums closer to people and businesses.
For many years, green transformation has often been mentioned as a major national goal with concepts such as emission reduction, carbon neutralization or energy transition. However, for those goals to become reality, it is important to create the participation of the whole society. The practical experience activities at Green Transformation Day 2026 have contributed to helping people understand that green transformation is not a distant story, but directly related to choices in daily life, consumption and travel," Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang assessed.
According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, the program does not just stop at a communication event but continues to be extended by thematic seminars on energy transition and green credit.
This is a suitable approach, because green transformation is a long-term process, requiring synchronization between technology, policies, finance and human resources. In-depth forums will create conditions for stakeholders to frankly exchange about practical difficulties, thereby proposing more feasible solutions for the implementation process" - Mr. Quang assessed.
In particular, in the energy sector, Vietnam is facing the requirement of both ensuring energy security and meeting emission reduction commitments and maintaining high economic growth rates. This requires long-term policies on renewable energy development, upgrading power grid infrastructure, developing energy storage technology and using energy efficiently.
