After paying dividends, Techcombank is expected to have the highest charter capital in the commercial bank sector with over 100 billion VND.

On August 24, 2026, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank, HOSE: TCB) just announced documents to collect shareholder opinions in writing related to the plan to increase charter capital through issuing shares to pay dividends from undistributed after-tax profits and issuing ESOPs to employees. Accordingly, Techcombank's charter capital is expected to increase to VND 106,593,378,550,000 and become the largest private bank with capital in Vietnam.

Techcombank is expected to issue 3,543,120,207 shares to pay dividends to existing shareholders at a rate of 50%. The capital source for implementation is taken from undistributed accumulated profits, based on the audited financial statements for 2025.

The bank also announced the issuance of ESOP for employees with an expected number of 29,977,234 shares, total issuance value of 299,772,340,000 VND, issuance ratio of more than 0.28%.

After the issuance, Techcombank's charter capital is expected to increase to VND 106,593,378,550,000 and become the private bank with the largest charter capital in Vietnam. The issuance is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, after completing procedures with management agencies according to regulations.

Recently, in the list of Top 20 largest budget-paying banks in Vietnam 2026, among private banks, Techcombank ranked first with a contribution of nearly 11,000 billion VND to the 2025 budget.

This is the first time a private bank has contributed over 10,000 billion VND to the budget. This result makes Techcombank the most prominent representative of the private banking sector in the list of honors, and also shows that the contribution scale of private banks has approached the leading group in the whole industry.

Techcombank has also just announced its business results for the first half of 2026 with many positive results. The bank recorded pre-tax profit of 18.5 trillion VND, an increase of 22.5% compared to the same period last year. In which, the second quarter played a central role in breaking through when setting a new peak in profit. The first six months of 2026 witnessed a comprehensive recovery in Techcombank's business aspects, with total operating income reaching 28.6 trillion VND, an increase of 17.5% compared to the same period.

Techcom Securities (stock code TCX) is also officially included in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series stock basket according to FTSE Russell's semi-annual review results.
