Supermarket opening hours during Tet, some places open 24/7

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, supermarkets and convenience stores in Ho Chi Minh City will extend their operating hours. Many places will operate throughout Tet to serve people.

From January 24, 2025 to January 27, 2025, MM Mega Market centers will be open 24/7. In particular, on January 28, 2025 (29th of Tet), MM Mega Market centers will be open until 12 noon and resume operations at 7am on the 2nd day of Tet.

Since the beginning of January, the Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Finelife... systems under Saigon Co.op have extended their service hours by opening their stores 1 hour earlier than usual. Since mid-January, these units have been serving until 11pm.

Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets are also only closed on the first day of Tet (January 29). After that, the supermarkets will open for the new year on the second day of Tet.

GO! Supermarket system, Big C from January 18 to January 27, open from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm.

On January 28 (the 29th day of the Lunar New Year), this supermarket chain will be open from 7am to 12pm. Go! Mien Dong (District 10) and Go! Nguyen Thi Thap (District 7) will be open from 6am to 12pm. On January 29 (the 1st day of the Lunar New Year), the entire supermarket chain will be temporarily closed. On January 30 (the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year), it will be open from 10am to 10pm.

At Emart supermarkets, from January 22-27, they will be open from 7am to 11pm. On January 28, they will be open from 6am to 12pm. On the third day of Tet, Emart supermarkets will open from 7am to 10pm.

Lotte Mart stores will open earlier and close later depending on the area to meet people's Tet shopping needs. From the second day of Tet, Lotte Mart supermarkets will reopen. Lotte Mart supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City will open from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. from January 18 to 27. On January 28, they will open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently 3 unit markets, 229 traditional markets, and 52 shopping malls in the area. Most of the supermarket and convenience store systems such as Saigon Co.op, Go!, BigC, Bach Hoa Xanh, AEON, MM Mega Market, Winmart... are participating in distributing market stabilization goods.

At the same time, manufacturing enterprises such as Vinamilk, Nutifood, Ba Huan, San Ha, Vissan... strongly develop sales networks at markets, grocery stores... E-commerce channels are also playing an increasingly important role.

To reduce the pressure of people shopping and stockpiling before Tet, most distribution systems plan to stay open almost throughout Tet. Some store systems such as Family Mart, GS25, Kingfood Mart... will operate throughout Tet.
