On the morning of September 25, in Quy Nhon City, a conference was held to promote regional connectivity in e-commerce development in Binh Dinh and the provinces of the North Central and Central Coast regions.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Dinh province, over the past time, the economic growth rate of the province has gradually increased over the years; e-commerce sectors have grown strongly, contributing positively to the development of the digital economy and improving the competitiveness of enterprises.
In 2024, Binh Dinh province's e-commerce index will rank 26th out of 63 provinces and cities; rank 6th out of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions.
Assessing the e-commerce sector in the province, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that there are still many difficulties and challenges, such as: The team of specialized e-commerce staff is still lacking; the situation of fake goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin... are widely sold on social networks, e-commerce platforms, affecting the psychology of online shopping of consumers...
"The province hopes that the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ministries and branches will have more activities to connect and share State management orientations and domestic market development to remove difficulties and obstacles, contributing to promoting e-commerce in the locality and provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions. In particular, support the development of specific e-commerce development programs and orientations for each locality, including Binh Dinh," said Mr. Hoang.
According to Ms. Le Hoang Oanh - Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, among the regions in the country, the North Central and Central Coast regions are particularly important. The provinces in this region share a coastline, accounting for more than 55% of the country's coastline.
Localities in the region are famous for their key products such as: processed seafood, dried foods, fish sauce, bird's nest, wooden products... Therefore, the problem is how to make the localities take advantage of e-commerce to bring key products to the domestic and international markets, without competing with each other.
"This event opens up opportunities for connection, experience sharing, effective coordination in exploiting resources, creating value chains and common benefits for the entire region. I really hope that speakers and experts will focus on sharing and "offering advice" suitable for the region, in order to promote e-commerce application, promote effective regional linkages...", Ms. Oanh said.
