Hung Yen province grows GRDP by more than 10%, among the highest in the country

Hung Yen - April 6, the Provincial People's Committee organized a regular meeting in March 2026 to listen to and give opinions on some important contents.

At the conference, delegates listened to leaders of the Department of Finance report on the socio-economic situation in the first quarter, key tasks for the second quarter of 2026; the situation of allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; management and use of public assets; land use fee collection plan for 2026 and the period 2026 - 2030.

In the first quarter of 2026, the province's economy recorded many positive results. GRDP is estimated to increase by 10.43% compared to the same period in 2025, ranking in the highest group of the country and ranked 3rd in the Red River Delta region.

The index of industrial production increased by 14.54%, especially the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 16.16%. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 16.65%; import and export increased by 5.4%. Agricultural production is stable, no major epidemics occurred.

State budget revenue reached 18,577 billion VND, equal to 22% of the estimate; of which domestic revenue was 16,971 billion VND, revenue from import and export was 1,548 billion VND. The whole province attracted 69 new projects and 53 turns of capital increase projects, total capital reached 37,649 billion VND and 251.4 million USD; new business registration was granted to 1,650 businesses, an increase of 50.8%. Total social investment capital is estimated at 35,636 billion VND, an increase of 22.02%.

Cultural and social fields are guaranteed, social security is stable. The whole province has created jobs for 15,320 workers, of which 1,290 workers are working abroad. Tourism continues to develop with about 1.7 million visitors, including 35,000 international visitors.

Local authorities at two levels operate smoothly; administrative discipline is strengthened; the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations is maintained in order; national defense and security are maintained. The election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term was organized safely and in accordance with regulations.

Speaking in conclusion, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the results achieved in the first quarter were thanks to the drastic and synchronous direction of all levels and sectors. Many high growth targets, social security were ensured, and no hot spots arose.

Regarding tasks in the coming time, he requested localities to accelerate site clearance for industrial zones and clusters; develop agriculture in a direction suitable for each region; complete land administration dossiers.

At the same time, accelerate planning, construction order management, strengthen disaster prevention and control, consolidate infrastructure and promote digital transformation, ensuring the completion of equipment investment in the second quarter of 2026.
