On July 8, at the 4th (expanded) Conference of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Party Committee, term I, term 2025-2030, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee launched the peak emulation period "150 days and nights" to mobilize the entire political system, businesses and people to accelerate the implementation of key tasks, determined to complete ahead of schedule the socio-economic development goals and targets for 2026.
According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City focuses on implementing 5 key tasks, including maintaining GRDP growth of 11% or more in the remaining quarters of the year; disbursing 100% of public investment capital, accelerating key projects; mobilizing businesses to expand investment, production, create jobs and contribute to the double-digit growth target.
The city also promotes administrative reform, digital transformation, improves the investment and business environment; implements the peak of the 2026 National Health Examination Program, striving for 100% of people to have health check-ups and electronic health records.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests departments, branches, localities, project management boards and state-owned enterprises to develop action plans, clearly define targets, progress and sign commitments of responsibility. The results of implementation will be the basis for evaluating the level of task completion and considering emulation and commendation.
At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and 15 strategic corporations and enterprises signed a commitment to coordinate in promoting investment, infrastructure development, accelerating investment preparation, construction, disbursement and completion of key projects, and at the same time regularly reviewing and removing difficulties to complete or exceed the set goals.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is committed to continuing to reform administrative procedures, shorten the time to process dossiers, improve the investment environment and accompany businesses in the project implementation process.
On the business side, the units committed to mobilizing maximum resources in finance, human resources and technology, accelerating the progress of projects, expanding investment, developing production and business, and closely coordinating with the city, contributing to realizing the goal of double-digit economic growth in 2026.
HCMC's GRDP in the first 6 months of the year increased by 8.55% compared to the same period.
State budget revenue reached 477.173 billion VND, equal to 59.4% of the estimate.
Ho Chi Minh City disbursed 51.637 billion VND (reaching 35%) out of a total capital of about 147. 599 billion VND assigned by the Prime Minister.
