At ACB, the bank said that in accordance with Circular 17/2024/TT-NHNN regulating the opening and use of payment accounts at payment service providers and Circular 18/2024/TT-NHNN regulating bank card operations, ACB has implemented biometric data updates, matching customer identification documents and biometric information.
Accordingly, all customers (including individual customers and legal representatives of corporate customers) who are transacting at ACB's counters, ATM/CRM channels, and online channels must use valid identification documents (information, data) according to the law during the entire transaction process at ACB. Therefore, from January 1, 2025, ACB will temporarily suspend transactions for customers whose identification documents have expired.
Also at TPBank, this bank said that in case the Citizen Identification Card, Identity Card, Passport or equivalent documents that the customer provided to TPBank when opening an Account have changed or have expired, the bank requests the customer to update the new Identity Document to TPBank.
It is known that according to the 2023 Law on Identity Cards, the old ID cards are only valid until December 31, 2024.
According to Circular 18, from January 1, 2025, if a customer does not provide biometric data or the data does not match, all electronic transactions on that customer's existing account will be stopped.
