Regarding the damage situation, compensation and insurance payment to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 (Bualoi), according to the latest information from the Insurance Management and Supervision Department (Ministry of Finance), as of October 2, insurance companies ( DNBH) have recorded 6 cases of human losses and 2,281 cases of other non-life insurance operations. The total amount of money paid to people and property is estimated at more than 357 billion VND.
As of October 2, based on the reports of 32/32 non-life insurance companies and 19/19 life insurance companies, the damage to people and property of insurance-aice organizations and individuals is calculated as follows: Human damage is 6 cases, the estimated insurance amount is 700 million VND; property damage and other non-life insurance operations are 2,281 cases, the estimated damage is 356.5 billion VND.
In which: Health Insurance: 1 case, equivalent to the insurance amount of 200 million VND; Technical Property Insurance: 591 cases, estimated damage of more than 315.6 billion VND; Motor vehicle Insurance: 1,680 cases, estimated damage of 38.3 billion VND.
Other operations include body insurance, agricultural insurance for 10 cases, estimated damage of 2.5 billion VND
Life insurance sector: Total number of deaths and injuries covered by insurance: 5 cases, estimated insurance amount of about 480 million VND.
Thus, the total estimated initial payment for people and property that insurance companies must make due to storm No. 10 is 357.2 billion VND.
According to reports from insurance companies, up to now, the amount of damage is mainly related to technical property insurance and motor vehicle insurance. Enterprises are continuing to record loss notices.
Despite many difficulties in accessing the scene, insurance companies have immediately sent staff to speed up the process of appraisal, determination of damage, loss assessment, advance payment, compensation... to ensure compensation is provided quickly, fully, and in accordance with regulations; promptly support organizations and individuals affected by the storm to soon stabilize their lives, production and business in accordance with regulations and the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Finance.
In the face of storm No. 10 (international name Bualoi) and the storm circulation causing heavy damage to people and property in many provinces and cities, on September 29, the Ministry of Finance (Information and Supervision Department) issued Official Letter No. 1398/QLBH-PNT requesting the Vietnam Insurance Association and insurance companies to proactively coordinate with relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to effectively carry out response work; in case of damage, it must be promptly determined (damaged to people and property of organizations and individuals participating in insurance); immediately implement the advance payment of compensation, compensation and insurance payment quickly, promptly and fully to the insurance buyer and beneficiaries according to the agreement in the insurance contract and legal regulations.
