The bank is wholeheartedly accompanying people affected by storms and floods.
Borrowing 4 billion VND from the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) to invest in fish rafts, but on the day Typhoon Yagi hit, Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy's family - Thong Nhat 2 Quarter, Tan An, Quang Yen (Quang Ninh) painfully and sadly watched as 105 fish farms were swept away by the storm.
Ms. Thuy shared that in the days after the storm, whenever Tan An residents met, they hugged and cried, only knowing how to comfort themselves "as long as there are people, there is property".
Investing in 60 fish farms, each with about 500 fish in Cam Pha and 45 fish farms in Ben Giang, the loss for Ms. Thuy's family is estimated at 12 billion VND. After a stormy night, all that remained were a few small fish kept in the cages.
Once the storm passes, people will continue their work, continue to stay close to the sea to soon bring life back to normal. “But how can we not feel pain and sorrow? Now we don’t know how to cope because all our assets have been swept away by the water,” Ms. Thuy said, choking with emotion.
Ms. Thuy's only wish is for the bank to defer, extend the debt and give us a new loan so that we can recover. "If the bank trusts us to lend us money to quickly buy baby fish and release them in time, then in just 2 years, we can recover and have money to pay off the bank loan."
In the same situation, Mr. Vu Van Cuong - Zone 3 Tan An, Quang Yen (Quang Ninh) also choked up when talking about his 3 fish rafts worth nearly 14 billion VND.
Mr. Vu Van Cuong shared: "If the bank tightens the debt now, we don't know what to do. We just hope the bank will take pity on us and postpone the debt, extend the debt for us, and lend us money to start over."
