On June 22, 2025, at the Vinh Quang Vietnam program with the theme "Proudness and Aspiration", Vietnam Airlines Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Airlines) was one of 19 typical collectives and individuals honored. This recognition comes from Vietnam Airlines' contributions in connecting transportation, promoting international integration, contributing to socio-economic development and affirming the position of the National Airlines.
A year after that milestone, Vietnam Airlines continued to maintain its growth momentum, expand its flight network, improve service quality, promote digital transformation and sustainable development. These results not only reflect the recovery and growth capacity of the enterprise but also affirm the role of the National Airlines in connecting, integrating and promoting socio-economic development.
Not only a symbol of Vietnam's aviation industry, Vietnam Airlines is also a driving force for the digital economy, green economy and aviation diplomacy in the period of integration. As the sole representative of Vietnam in the SkyTeam global aviation alliance, the airline continues to expand its international connection network, contributing to bringing Vietnam's image and position closer to the world.
According to the report approved at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, in 2025, Vietnam Airlines achieved consolidated revenue of 123,858 billion VND and consolidated after-tax profit of 7,607 billion VND. The airline safely operated 156.2 thousand flights, transported 25.65 million passengers and 340.2 thousand tons of goods.
Operational efficiency continues to improve with an average operating hours reaching 11.8 hours per day per aircraft, an increase of 8% over the same period. The route network has been fully restored and expanded to 113 routes, connecting 22 domestic destinations and 39 international destinations in 22 countries. In the first half of 2026, Vietnam Airlines continues to open and announce new routes to Amsterdam, Phuket and Colombo, while increasing the frequency of operation on many international routes.
Continuously marking on international rankings
Vietnam Airlines continues to promote its role as a national airline with positive results in business operations and expanding international connections.
Most recently, Vietnam Airlines was awarded the Third-class Labor Medal, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister; 11 consecutive years in the Top 10 Famous Vietnamese Brands; for the first time in the Top 50 Most Valuable Aviation Brands in the World according to Brand Finance and is the only Vietnamese airline to be in the Top 10 Strongest Brands in Vietnam in 2026.
In 2026, Vietnam Airlines continues to be in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking for the third consecutive year. Recently, Cirium ranked Vietnam Airlines 3rd in the Top 10 airlines with the highest punctuality in the Asia-Pacific region with a punctuality rate of 87.77%, reflecting stable operating efficiency in the context of continued increase in air transport demand.
According to Mr. Dang Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, continuing to be voted in the Top 10 Famous Vietnamese Brands is the recognition of customers and society for the airline's continuous efforts in improving service quality, innovation and brand development. This is also a motivation for Vietnam Airlines to continue to bring the National Airlines brand further on the international market.
Along with business operations, Vietnam Airlines continues to promote its role in the country's political, foreign affairs and humanitarian missions. The airline has just been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in supporting search and rescue and overcoming the consequences of earthquakes in Venezuela.
Preparing the foundation for a new stage of development
Besides the achieved results, Vietnam Airlines leaders said that the airline is focusing on building a foundation for the 2026-2035 development strategy. In which, continuing to implement the project to invest in 50 new generation narrow-body aircraft, leasing 20 more aircraft to meet the operating needs of the 2027-2028 period, and preparing to put the first cargo aircraft into operation and expand infrastructure investment at Long Thanh International Airport.
In parallel with scale expansion, Vietnam Airlines promotes digital transformation and sustainable development. The airline has put the Internet on aircraft, deployed biometric technology through VNeID in the process of procedures, and synchronized operations at Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport. At the same time, the airline continues to implement the development roadmap according to ESG criteria, fuel optimization, research and application of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
