The event took place within the framework of the Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program, opening up opportunities to strongly promote tourism and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Italy.
Vietnam Airlines becomes the first Vietnamese airline to operate a direct flight from Hanoi to Milan - the largest fashion and economic center in Europe.

According to the plan, the Hanoi - Milan route will be operated from July 1, 2025, using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft, with a frequency of 3 round trips per week and a total flight time of nearly 12 hours per leg.
The operation of the new route will increase the total number of direct flights of Vietnam Airlines to Europe to 9 routes, while expanding the international connection network, providing more convenient options for passengers on their journey to explore Europe.
The Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Milan is organized to promote exchanges, enhance cooperation in the field of tourism and investment between the two countries, and promote the image of Vietnam as a destination to the European market.
Within the framework of the event, representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, the National Tourism Organization of Italy (ENIT) and representatives of the Lombardia government pledged to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and the economy.
On the Vietnamese side, the National Administration of Tourism, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, and major airlines and travel agencies such as Vietnam Airlines and Saigontourist Group have introduced many new tourism products and services, updated visa policies and market information to enhance connections with international partners.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Alessandra Priante, President of the National Tourism Organization of Italy (ENIT), commented: We welcome the establishment of a direct flight between Hanoi and Milan - a strong driving force for bilateral tourism cooperation. Italy and Vietnam both have unique cultures and tourism values. With the support of airlines, businesses and promotion agencies of both sides, we believe in a future of extensive, effective and sustainable cooperation in the tourism industry.
Previously, at the recent Destination Italy event held in Hanoi, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, emphasized: The Hanoi - Milan direct flight, expected to be operated from next July, will shorten the geographical distance, creating favorable conditions for tourists to explore the beauty of both Italy and Vietnam. We are making efforts to realize the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors in 2025, and Italy, with great tourism potential and favorable visa exemption policies, is expected to be one of the important markets contributing to this success.
The opening of the new route not only brings more convenient travel options to passengers but also continues to affirm Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role and mission of more than 30 years of taking off with the river: connecting Vietnam with the world, accompanying the country's extensive integration process.
Previously, Vietnamese passengers who wanted to go to Italy often had to connect to transit centers such as Paris, Frankfurt or Doha, prolonging the travel time. Now, with the direct flight from Hanoi to Milan, visitors can easily access the "land of great heritages", explore ancient cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice or the world's top artistic wonders.
On the other hand, Italian tourists will also have the opportunity to experience famous destinations in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City... thanks to the faster and more convenient direct flight than ever.
This tourism promotion event, along with the opening of the Hanoi - Milan direct flight route, not only expands the air transport network but also contributes to strengthening the friendship and economic - cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Italy.
Vietnam Airlines, through its continuous efforts over the past three decades, continues to affirm its role as a solid bridge, bringing the image of Vietnam to the world and connecting Vietnamese values with the world.
