Strengthening regional linkages, promoting industrial and trade development
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, after the administrative merger, Vinh Long has nearly 6,300 km2 and more than 4.25 million people. The province exploits the advantages of rivers - seas, highways and national highways to develop industry, trade, logistics, focusing on the marine economy.
Vinh Long also strengthens regional linkages, especially with Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, to form an inter-provincial value chain. The province inherits the processing and logistics potential of the old Vinh Long, combining the strengths of the "coconut capital" of Ben Tre and renewable energy with the deep-water seaport of Tra Vinh.
Currently, the total coconut area in the province is over 106,000 hectares, with processing revenue of over 1 billion USD per year. The total power generation capacity of the region reached 5,416MW, of which nearly 1,000MW was from clean energy, bringing tens of thousands of billions of VND.

Dinh An - Tra Cu Port and Dinh An Economic Zone are forming a coastal logistics network, effectively supporting the large-scale agricultural and aquatic exports of the whole region.
Along with that, the distribution system in the province is diverse, with more than 400 markets, 16 supermarkets, and 141 convenience stores. Total retail and consumer services in 2025 is estimated to reach VND 660,000 billion, affirming the pillar role of the trade sector in the regional economic structure.
Orientation for sustainable and modern development
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Long - said that the province aims to develop industry in a green, sustainable and modern direction. The province will focus on developing specialized industrial parks and clusters, prioritizing processing of agricultural, aquatic, mechanical, supporting industries and electronics.
According to Mr. Tuan, Vinh Long will promote investment in clean, low-emission industries, applying 4.0 technology, while strongly switching to renewable energy. Supporting industries will be developed to create a domestic supply network, linked to production centers in the region.
The province also focuses on attracting enterprises to produce components and equipment for the renewable energy industry - a rapidly developing strength in the locality and the entire Mekong Delta region.

At the same time, the Industry and Trade sector will accelerate digital transformation in management, building industry databases, developing e-commerce associated with key agricultural products, and expanding consumption through platforms and supermarkets.
The industry also focuses on upgrading markets and shopping centers in a civilized and safe direction; strengthening control of counterfeit goods and trade fraud, especially cross-border e-commerce.
Vinh Long will selectively attract investment, focusing on cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the Mekong Delta and Southeast to develop an effective trade - industrial supply chain, Mr. Tuan emphasized.
