In his speech, Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son mentioned 6 outstanding results of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the past term, emphasizing the breakthrough achievements in policy consultation work with many amended and supplemented laws, circulars and newly issued regulations; the implementation of planning and development of the national power and energy network has achieved many achievements and remarkable progress, notably the "miracle" of the 500kV line 3 being completed with many "records" in construction time, workload, resource mobilization, and problem solving.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also emphasized that, with the regulating and leading role of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, import and export continue to play an important role in the economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade needs to continue to maintain its role as the main state management agency for industry and trade, the "head flag" on the economic front, a solid support for corporations, general companies, and enterprises; a trusted companion and a positive inspiration for the business community. The Industry and Trade sector needs to continue to promote its role as a strong force in the journey to develop the nation strongly and prosperously.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested a number of key tasks. Accordingly, strengthen leadership and comprehensive direction of political tasks in the State management of the industry, organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress (until it is approved); strive to fulfill the goals, achieve and exceed the targets assigned by the National Assembly and the Government, contributing to making Vietnam basically a modern industrial country with a high average income by 2030, with the competitiveness of being among the leading countries in ASEAN, participating deeply in the global supply chain, maintaining the top 20 position in exports and top 30 in the global retail market, ensuring a balance of supply and demand of goods and energy; developing modern energy, trade, logistics infrastructure, approaching the top of ASEAN.
