Urgently arrange housing for officials after the merger
According to the Department of Construction of Vinh Long province, after the merger of 3 provinces, the demand for public housing after the merger is 266 people with a position allowance coefficient of 0.7 and equivalent or higher. 1,629 accommodation rooms are needed for cadres, civil servants and workers (of which, 939 cadres have allowance coefficients below 0.7, 690 cadres and workers).
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Duy - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Vinh Long province - said that the public housing fund is not much left, the province has reviewed the number of public housing units that can be arranged as 181 (dwellings, apartments) for 181 people, still 85 people short of the demand.

There are currently 206 temporary rooms, enough for 405 people. There is still a shortage of 1,224 rooms compared to the need of 1,629 people.
"After the coordination process, collecting opinions from relevant departments and branches, the Department of Construction has completed the draft and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to propose issuing appropriate support policies according to regulations," Mr. Duy added.
Repairing and building new public housing to help officials feel secure in their work
Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee - said that after Vinh Long province officially operated the 2-level government model from July 1, what he wanted most was that all cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces and people must join hands and be unanimous in thinking and acting.
According to Mr. Cuong, the immediate task is to stabilize the organizational apparatus and soon put the political system into effective operation.
Prioritize the smooth implementation of areas directly related to people such as public service provision, healthcare, education, culture and especially land administrative procedures - not to let congestion affect people and businesses.

Regarding the working place and accommodation for cadres after the merger, Mr. Cuong said that in the immediate future, the province will direct departments and branches under the old Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, if any department can be moved immediately to Vinh Long, then move it first, if any department can work online, then gradually move it later to reduce pressure, the working place as well as the accommodation.
The Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee added that the province has quickly repaired and upgraded existing headquarters and public housing, and at the same time studied investment in building new headquarters and public housing.
"The province also directed the Department of Education to prepare facilities and schools for the children of cadres and civil servants from far away to study in enough schools to study, so that the forces from far away to work in Vinh Long can feel secure in completing their tasks well," Mr. Cuong added.
