More than 100,000 jobs from industrial parks
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Head of the Economic Zone Management Board (KKT) of Vinh Long province - said that after the merger, economic zones and industrial parks (IPs) in Vinh Long such as Dinh An, Long Duc, Hoa Phu, Binh Minh, Giao Long and An Hiep have been focused on development, attracting more than 200 secondary investment projects.
According to Mr. Phuong, these areas have contributed significantly to the local budget, the value of industrial production accounts for the majority of the total revenue of the province and export turnover has also increased.
The development of industrial parks has created stable jobs for more than 100,000 workers, contributing to improving income, improving living standards and promoting the shift in labor structure towards industrialization and modernization.

In addition, the industrial parks also promote the development of service, logistics and trade sectors, creating more career opportunities for local people.
"The operation of industrial parks not only brings economic benefits but also helps workers access new skills, improve their professional qualifications, thereby forming a quality workforce, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the province", Mr. Phuong added.
Concentrating on infrastructure and land funds to attract investment
According to the Vinh Long Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, currently, Economic Zones and Industrial Parks are facing difficulties in attracting new investment due to the lack of industrial land.
Infrastructure investor calling has not met expectations, connecting transport infrastructure is not yet synchronous, some routes such as National Highway 54, National Highway 57B and the road to Binh Minh Industrial Park have not been upgraded or expanded.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong said that in the coming time, the integration and review of planning of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks will be accelerated, and areas that are no longer suitable will be adjusted to make the most of the province's advantages.

According to Mr. Phuong, Vinh Long is submitting to the Prime Minister for approval to adjust the General Planning for the construction of Dinh An Economic Zone to 2040, and at the same time developing zoning plans to serve as a basis for calling for investment.
The implementation of new industrial parks, although approved in principle by the Prime Minister, is still slow, especially in the stages of resettlement, compensation and site clearance, affecting the overall progress. In addition, the province will coordinate with sectors and localities to accelerate the resettlement project to serve Dong Binh Industrial Park, Gilimex Vinh Long, An Dinh, Hoa Phu (phase 3).
"The province will also urge the completion of Phu Thuan Industrial Park infrastructure, invite secondary investors, support procedures for Giao Hoa Industrial Park project and focus on removing obstacles so that projects can be implemented on schedule," Mr. Phuong emphasized.
According to Decision 1142/QD-TTg, in the period of 2021-2030, in addition to existing industrial parks, Vinh Long will develop a number of new industrial parks such as - urban - service industrial parks, Don Xuan - Don Chau industrial parks, Dinh An industrial parks, Industrial parks under Tra Cu Port, Long Khanh Industrial Parks, Long Vinh Industrial Parks and form a Center for renewable energy export in Dinh An Economic Zone. The province is also submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the adjustment of the General Planning of Dinh An Economic Zone to 2040 and the development of zoning plans to call for investment.
