Cao Bang Provincial Tax Department has just issued a warning about the emergence of subjects impersonating tax officials and tax authorities to carry out fraudulent acts, appropriating information and property of people and businesses.
Accordingly, recently, many subjects have used phones, emails, Zalo, Facebook and other social networking platforms to contact taxpayers under the guise of tax authorities.
Subjects often send fake invitations, official letters or request to provide information such as Business Registration Certificates, citizen identification cards of legal representatives.
Some cases also guide the implementation of tax exemption and reduction dossiers, and conversion of tax declaration methods for business households to create trust.

Notably, the subjects also require taxpayers to access strange links or install applications of unknown origin to steal personal data, business information and bank accounts.
Cao Bang Provincial Tax Department affirmed that these are acts of impersonating tax authorities for the purpose of fraud.
The tax authority requests organizations, businesses and taxpayers in the area to raise their vigilance against calls, messages, emails or social media accounts showing signs of fraud.
People should absolutely not provide personal information, bank accounts, OTP codes, passwords or other security data to strangers.
At the same time, do not access links of unclear origin and do not install software as requested by the person claiming to be a tax official without verification.
In case of receiving suspicious calls, messages or information, taxpayers need to proactively contact the managing tax authority directly to check, verify and be promptly guided.
Cao Bang Provincial Tax Department also recommends that people and businesses regularly monitor official notices from tax authorities to update information, protect personal data and avoid becoming victims of online fraud.
For any problems in the process of carrying out administrative procedures on taxes, taxpayers can contact Cao Bang Provincial Tax Department or grassroots tax units for support and answers.
