On September 27, informing reporters, a representative of the Cao Bang Economic Zone Management Board said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the total import-export turnover of goods reached more than 719.2 million USD, an increase of 130.56% over the same period in 2024, completing 101.3% of the plan assigned by the province.



Currently, 189 enterprises are participating in the operation with more than 10,370 customs declarations (9,210 export declarations and 1,163 import declarations).
The main export items include jackfruit, durian, peanuts, jelly, lead powder, aluminum and garlic, etc., while the main import items are onions, machinery and equipment, cars, coke, beer, and various types of fabric.
Supervised turnover reached more than 113 million USD, up 86.27% over the same period, equal to 59.5% of the plan.
In addition, budget collection activities at border gates achieved impressive results, with revenue of more than VND 1,723 billion, an increase of 156.48% over the same period and equal to 249.72% of the plan assigned by the province. Fees for using border gate infrastructure works reached over 11.4 billion VND, an increase of 73.74%.
In particular, after upgrading, Ta Lung has welcomed many importations of goods such as trucks - an item that brings in a large budget revenue.


Mr. Hoang Van Hoa (a resident of Phuc Hoa commune) shared: "Since the upgrade of Ta Lung border gate was completed, there has been more freight traffic. Everyone hopes to have a job here to increase their income".
Regarding the number of people traveling from both sides, in the first 9 months, more than 411,000 people chose Ta Lung International Border Gate as a place for entry and exit; the authorities also controlled 16,365 vehicles transporting goods with a total volume of more than 242,000 tons.
In addition, the Chinese side has returned 451 Vietnamese citizens, the border gate has issued and exchanged 346 visas, collecting a fee of 1,725 USD.
Over the past 5 years (2021-2025), the border gate economy has always been a key development driver of Cao Bang.
Specifically, total budget revenue from border gate activities in the period reached VND6,866 billion, accounting for about 46% of total state budget revenue in the area, with an average growth rate of 128%/year, the figure is considered the highest ever.

According to the reporter's research, border gate economic activities not only contribute to the budget but also create jobs, increase the average income of border residents to more than 6 million VND/month, contribute to social stability and ensure national defense and security in border areas.
