On September 12, at Ta Lung II bridge (Phuc Hoa commune, Cao Bang), the People's Committee of Cao Bang province and the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) held a ceremony to announce the upgrading of the Ta Lung (Vietnam) - Thuy Khau (China) border gate pair to an international border gate.
The ceremony was attended by leaders of Cao Bang province, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nam Ninh, and representatives of departments, branches, and functional forces of both sides; on the Chinese side, there were leaders of Sung Ta City and border management agencies.

Ta Lung - Thuy Khau Border Gate is a traditional trade route, now upgraded to an international border gate to expand trade, service, tourism cooperation, enhance infrastructure connectivity and promote cultural exchanges, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.
Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach affirmed that this is an important event, the result of the direction of the two governments and the coordination efforts of the localities of both sides.

He emphasized that Cao Bang will continue to improve border gate infrastructure, reform administrative procedures, facilitate import and export and work with Guangxi to build a peaceful, friendly and sustainable border.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Sung Ta Lam Hieu said that China sees this as an opportunity to promote substantive cooperation with Cao Bang, enhance trade, production and regional connectivity, contributing to building a connected Vietnam - China community.


At the ceremony, the two sides officially operated the international border gate and organized the opening of traffic, with 10 cargo vehicles from each side traveling through the Ta Lung II - Thuy Khau bridge, marking a new step in the development of border cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.
