Gold price today, August 26: The highest "thrill" increase since June

    Gold prices today (August 26) opened a trading session with a strong increase in the context of the USD being "disastrously" depreciated to a 3-week low after the Fed Chairman's lackluster speech.

    Opening this morning's trading session (8.26), DOJI Group listed the price of SJC gold at 36.35-36.42 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out), an increase of 70,000 VND for buying and an increase of 60,000 VND for selling compared to the same time in yesterday's trading session.

    SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau is listed at 36.35-36.41 million VND/tael, up 60 thousand VND in both directions compared to yesterday. Gold price of smooth round Quotation Dragon Gold Thang Long is trading at: 35.19 - 35.64 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 100,000 VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.

    At Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), the price of SJC gold bars was listed at 36.30 - 36.49 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 80,000 VND/tael for buying and 90,000 VND/tael for selling compared to the same time yesterday.

    The world gold price is currently listed at 1290.80 - 1291.80 USD/ounce.

    9999 gold price for December delivery increased by 2.20 USD/ounce to 1294.20 USD/ounce.

    The disappointing speech of Ms. J.Yellen - Chairwoman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) at the recent US Central Bank conference caused the USD to immediately plummet to the bottom of the 3-week threshold.

    In his lackluster speech, Fed Chairman quan quan Yellen did not give any new signal on monetary policy. Investors are turning to gold as a safe haven, sending gold prices to their highest level since June 2017. Experts predict gold prices will continue to increase next week, however, gold will still have difficulty reaching the psychological mark of 1,300 USD/ounce.

    In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank on the morning of August 26 was 22,446 VND/USD, unchanged from the previous session. Vietcombank's USD exchange rate today is listed at 22,695 - 22,765 VND/USD (buy - sell), down 5 VND in both directions compared to the previous trading session.
