The technician can check the oil condition to detect abnormal signs, in which oil changing color or showing signs of suspected water contamination is a sign that needs to be checked more carefully.
If water enters the powertrain, lubricant may be affected, reducing the ability to protect internal parts. If you continue to operate when the oil has been waterlogged, the risk of abrasion and damage to powertrain parts may increase.
The powertrain has a ventilation system to balance internal pressure. When the car passes through deep water, if water approaches the ventilation position or flooding conditions exceed the protection capacity of the system, water may enter the powertrain. The level of impact depends on the design of each car model and the actual condition.
Therefore, the fact that the car still operates normally after going through floodwater does not mean that the internal parts are completely unaffected. Some problems may not appear immediately and are only detected during inspection or after operation.
When a scooter has to go through a deep flooded area, users should take the vehicle to an maintenance facility to check the air filter box, filter components and exhaust cluster. If oil is found to show signs of water contamination, technicians can proceed to discharge, check and replace new oil according to the correct type, amount of oil and manufacturer's process.
