1. Cleanse skin 2 times a day
In the summer, sweat, sunscreen and dirt easily accumulate on the skin, so cleaning is an indispensable step in the skin care process. You should use a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, limit clogged pores and help improve dark skin.
You can choose products with mild exfoliation to remove dull skin, helping skin become brighter naturally. However, you need to choose products suitable for each skin type: oily skin should use gel or foam form; dry skin prioritize cream form with moisturizing ability; sensitive skin should choose gentle products, without fragrances.
Maintaining the habit of washing your face twice a day will help the skin be clear and absorb the next moisturizing steps better.
2. Exfoliation (2-3 times/week)
Exfoliation helps promote skin regeneration, removes old horns and dull cells, thereby supporting more effective skin brightening.
However, you should not abuse this step. Exfoliating too often can weaken the skin's protective barrier, making the skin easily irritated and increasing the risk of melasma and dark spots.
3. Use skin-brightening serum
Serum has deep penetration ability, helping to improve pigmentation and even out skin tone more effectively than conventional cleaning products.
When choosing serum, you should prioritize ingredients such as: vitamin C that helps restore damage and increase brightness; niacinamide that supports strengthening the skin's protective barrier; licorice extract that helps fade melasma; alpha arbutin that supports reducing brown spots caused by sunlight.
Depending on the product concentration, you can use serum 1-2 times a day.
4. Use sunscreen
Sunscreen is the most important factor in the process of protecting and keeping skin white and bright in the summer. UV rays can stimulate melanin production, causing skin to darken and causing hyperpigmentation to recur.
To effectively protect your skin, you should use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50 or higher and reapply it every 2-3 hours when outdoors. Oily skin should prioritize gel form, while sensitive skin is suitable for physical sunscreen.
Skipping the sunscreen step can reduce the overall effectiveness of previous skin care steps.
