One of the contents of the Capital Workers frankly raised the issue at the meeting and dialogue between Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee and the Capital Workers on the occasion of the workers' month is lacking sports facilities so that workers can exercise after work.

Workers in the boarding house hope for a place to practice sports

Currently, there are many places where workers' houses around industrial parks lack sports facilities for workers. Tan shift, went home to take care of rice, only told their children to study, many people chose to walk around the house to exercise. In some places with outdoor sports tools, workers stay with the locals to take advantage of getting up early. However, many days have to wait for the turn to practice.

With the need to exercise and improve health after work and from reality, Mr. Le Thanh Tung, who is working at Daeha Joint Stock Company, frankly raised the issue with the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee: Currently, the city is lacking sports facilities for workers to exercise after work.

Therefore, on behalf of the workers, Mr. Tung suggested that the Chairman of the City People's Committee pay attention to directing the creation of many land funds and investing in building sports and cultural institutions to serve the needs of health training for workers.

Mr. Tung's request was approved by many workers. Currently, Hanoi has over 270,000 enterprises with about 2.7 million employees. The Hanoi City Labor Federation is directly managing and directing the activities of 45 trade unions at the grassroots level with a total of over 9,000 grassroots trade unions and nearly 800,000 union members.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will continue to review and propose to meet the needs of workers

Responding to Mr. Le Thanh Tung's proposal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said that currently, industrial parks and industrial clusters in the city are scattered in 30 districts, towns and cities. Accordingly, in addition to working full-time, other activities of workers are mainly associated with residential areas according to administrative units at the village and commune levels in localities.

With 100% of communes, wards and towns having stadiums; 99.2% of villages and hamlets having cultural houses and sports areas; 75% of residential groups having cultural houses and community activity points, along with 1,566 facilities and clubs practicing physical exercise and sports spread across 30 districts, towns and cities, are basic conditions to meet the needs of workers after working time.

Localities with industrial parks and industrial clusters in the area are mostly localities with basic completed cultural and sports institutions such as: Long Bien, Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Soc Son, Me Linh... are all localities with 100% of villages and residential groups having cultural houses, 100% of communes, wards, and towns having cultural centers or multi-purpose halls; 100% of villages and residential groups have outdoor sports installation points and simple sports training grounds...

The arrangement of workers' cultural and sports activities at 75 companies, factories and workshops has been promoting the effectiveness of improving the spiritual life of workers, creating a healthy working environment, connecting the working community, while contributing to building a corporate culture and promoting the emulation movement of labor production.

Thus, according to Ms. Huong, the existing system of cultural and sports institutions in the city has basically met the needs of enjoying, training and participating in cultural and sports activities of all classes of people in general, including the team of workers and laborers working in industrial parks and industrial clusters in particular.

Ms. Huong also said that through the survey, it is shown that after working hours, most workers tend to return to their place of residence to live, rest and participate in cultural and sports activities with the community, both ensuring effective use of the existing cultural and sports institutional system in residential areas and creating conditions for workers to integrate and connect with the community, contributing to building an increasingly rich and healthy grassroots cultural life.

In the coming time, in order to create more space for workers to practice and participate in cultural and arts activities, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will continue to review and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to advise and propose appropriate and effective solutions to meet the needs of workers, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life and work quality.
