Time has passed, but the vivid memories of screenwriter Peng Mai Phuong and the strong emotions expressed through her eyes and emotional voice still make listeners feel like they are living a heroic time. One day at the end of March, her father returned home and informed him that his superiors had sent him to the Ho Chi Minh campaign.
A few days later, he brought some personal items to those on the battlefield such as backpacks, military uniforms, boots, earrings, life jackets, flashlights, hammocks... and told him that he did not know what was going on on this trip, so the mother and daughter had to determine their spirit first.
The whole family was very nervous because at that time, the South had not been liberated, the family had an older brother (Mr. Phuong - Banh The Dung) went to the Southeast battlefield for 9 years, and there was no news. At that time, in 1967, the whole country ordered the general to encourage to prepare for the Mau Than campaign, Mr. Banh The Dung was at the film mechanical factory, extracted blood to write an application to go to the army ...
According to the decision of superiors, the Vietnam Feature Film Studio sent 4 filmmaking groups including: Director, screenwriter, filming, sound effects... and the best artists with couples such as: Hoang Tich Chi - Hai Ninh, Bang Bao - Tran Vu, Bui Dinh Hac - Tran Kim Thanh, Dang Nhat Minh - To Thi... to participate in the Ho Chi Minh campaign.
4 crews traveling on 4 com cars, the fifth car is the Gaz 69 car directed by Nguyen Tien Loi - Deputy Director of Vietnam Film Film Factory, and 4 writer Banh Chau (younger brother Banh Bao), Phan Vu (author of the song "Em, Hanoi"), Cam Ky and Duong Linh - are not the payroll of the film crew that has the duty to go to Hue and then turn to Hue. But coming to Hue, witnessing the attack speed of the soldiers released too fast, so the whole delegation asked for leaders to continue.
Coming to Nha Trang, screenwriter Peng Bao suddenly suffered from excess intestines and had to undergo urgent surgery. At that time, the whole city had only one general hospital, with doctors on the other side, but they did not distinguish between us and our friends but only cared for the sick. The surgery was successful, so Mr. Bao had to stay for a few days to recover. After April 30, he returned to Saigon and met his son (Mr. Dung) from the Southeast battlefield to visit his father.
All 4 film groups eventually had good films when participating in the Ho Chi Minh campaign, with screenwriter Bang Bao and director Tran Vu being the film "Qua ban Cong Ly" about unfortunate lives under the old regime.

spreading passion
To have the achievements he has today, screenwriter Peng Mai Phuong always mentioned his father and uncle with deep gratitude.
Mr. Banh Bao belongs to the first generation of Vietnamese artists to go to VGIK Cinema University (former Soviet Union) and graduated in 1964 with a red degree. The first milestone: He was the first Vietnamese student to have a script published in the film Art Magazine (киhо искусства), the agency of the Soviet Cinema Committee and the (former) Soviet Cinema Association published monthly, in 1962 with the graduation scenario of "old elephants", he received royalties in cash, the artifact is a radio and an additional camera of the camera.
During her childhood, Peng Mai Phuong's love of art was nurtured by famous songs by Chopin, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky listening to those "holy" charcoal discs. Later, a nephew of her, her grandfather's idol, collected ancient plate recorders so that every time the extended family gathered, they could play old music...
As for the reason why Peng Mai Phuong became a screenwriter, we have to go back in 1967 when the two screenwriter brothers Peng Bao and Peng Chau went to work on the Vinh Linh fire route, both lying under the bomb shelter and witnessed the brutal war.
During a trip, they were lucky to escape death but the car bomb killed the guide. That night, Peng Chau told his brother that if he hadn't been lucky enough to hit a bomb in the future, he would have lost the opportunity to train him as a professional screenwriter, so the first thing when he survived and returned was that his brothers had to choose at least one of their children to follow the profession...
So a Family Club headed by screenwriter Peng Chau was opened in the summer to organize for children and grandchildren in the family to learn dance, sing, play drama, play chess... The love of art has continued to grow and multiply over the years for Ms. Phuong.
In cinema, there are parallel pairs, but there are few close friends who know each other as well as a secret: screenwriter Bang Bao and director Tran Vu. Every time Mr. Vu went to Mr. Bao's house to discuss the script, Ms. Phuong worried about wiping the table, making tea, and preparing to finish them. Many times, Mr. Vu asked Ms. Phuong to comment on whether the section written in that script was true to the psychology of the character at her age?
Then every time Mr. Bao finished playing the draft (from the article to the film script, the textbook...) he printed many copies, selected the clearest version, edited Morat and then assigned his daughter to edit and review the remaining versions. Once, Ms. Phuong discovered a few errors, it is unclear whether her father intentionally or unintentionally left them. He said she should check her dictionary to correct her mistake and that helped her never forget...
Her uncle, writer Banh Chau had an animal to collect his neck lighters and gave her one. Many years later, when the television station came to film at her house, Banh Mai Phuong found the lighter and tried it, it still burned as a reminder that, the family members were the passion for her so that she could go the hard path of the pen. She said that the whole family had up to 6 people who have been with the factory for many years (later the Vietnamese film company), then joked, "My family has a lifetime for the country for the movie".
