Street lighting to make journalists' faces less black
Writing about the lack of playgrounds for workers' children in boarding houses around some industrial parks, we went to Ms. Nham's house, in Quoc Oai. The mother, child, grandchildren and grandchildren of Nham live in a cramped house, with closed walls on all sides, and... a door to enter and exit. To get to the door, you have to go through a narrow alley, less than 1m wide. Ms. Nham said that she had to rent a house with such a deep alley to avoid having to worry about the surrounding houses when her children cried.
At 5:00 p.m., Ms. Nham came home from work, after interviewing her in the house, we moved on to filming Ms. Nham as a cook. The male reporter conducted the scene, going from the gateway to the kitchen. What we did not consider was a cramped house, Ms. Nham had to leave the kitchen outside, where there was only 1 light bulb. At that time, the weather cleared faster than expected.
Therefore, the male reporter went on the alley several times, and every time he led, it was smooth. But looking back, I could see black faces, sometimes doubled, and could not clearly see where their eyes were and where their nose were. Meanwhile, Ms. Nham has been in the kitchen for quite a while to describe the daily cooking scene. That day, Ms. Nham's main dish was fried eggs. There are 5 eggs that Ms. Nham has to fry 3 times.
After seeing reporters filming and filming but still unable to do so because the face was too dark, Ms. Nham thought of a way to go into the house to get electric wires and light bulbs, and push them up the fence for the light. Ms. Nham told them to peel the lights so that the Journalist's face would be... black. Finally, thanks to the lights and some techniques, the reporter's face leading the scene was bright enough, meeting the standards of a video clip to be published in Lao Dong Newspaper.
Ms. Nham is just one of many workers who have helped journalists during their working career. Once, when reporting about the Union giving support to build a new Union Shelter, reporters struggled to know where to place the camera in the corner to work because the living room had many tables and chairs to welcome guests to celebrate the happy day.
Seeing that, the worker at home proactively left her position to receive support from the Trade Union Shelter, ran towards the reporter, pulling the table and chair down, much to everyone's surprise. When the reporter left, the homeowner asked Han: "Have you taken a photo before? I was lucky to have the Union's financial support to build a Union Shelter, so I think I have to do something to help people around me...
Support information on the way home
Recently, during the Lunar New Year, the Trade Union has organized bus trips to take workers home for Tet and welcome workers back to work after the holidays. After each warm trip, many workers and journalists became friends, even though they had only met once when one got married to a family to reunite, the other in the city hurriedly made a note for the last big event of the old year and then took care of Tet for his family.
However, those who stay in the city are still wondering where they will go when they return to their hometown, and at the end of the day, the person returning to their hometown texted: "Sister, your mother and children have returned to their hometown safely, your grandparents are very happy, I wish you a happy Tet". Just that line of news makes many people have more joy during Tet...
After the holidays, on the bus back to the city to work, there are workers enthusiastically announcing specific routes to the journalists. "The bus has arrived in Thanh Hoa, please take the bus slowly to the gathering point". "The car is only 2km from the industrial park, where are you standing?". Then, just a few days later, the worker sent a photo of a meal tray with vegetables and fish of the workers with the message: The rice, vegetables and fish are all from the family and brought from the countryside on the Trade Union charity truck that the brothers and sisters came to pick up...
Working in the Trade Union newspaper, writing about workers, it is a great joy to witness the joy of workers. That happiness is multiplied many times when each article has the contribution of the main character: The workers - the people that Lao Dong Newspaper always aims for.
