Japan Industrial Park - Hai Phong currently has 48 grassroots unions with 27,968 employees, 27,599 union members (18,687 women).
According to Mr. Do An Ninh - Chairman of the Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park Trade Union Club - dialogue, collective bargaining is one of the topics that the club focuses on. Experience in organizing dialogues does not stop at sharing preparation and listening skills, but also focuses on how to handle conflicts and mobilize employees to sympathize and share difficulties with businesses.
In the first 7 months of 2025, members organized 48 dialogues, successfully resolving 118 recommendations of typical employees such as the Nichias Co., Ltd. Trade Union successfully dialogueed on equipping air conditioners and building health care rooms for workers; the Medikit Co., Ltd. Trade Union reached an agreement to let employees take a day off on Wipha storm day and still receive full salary without having to make compensation.
Grassroots trade unions successfully negotiated salary, bonus and welfare regimes, bringing direct benefits to employees. Typically, the Trade Union of GE Company Limited, EBA Company Limited successfully negotiated to increase the basic salary by 600,000-800,000 VND/person/month, the Trade Union of Fujikura composites Company Limited negotiated to increase the parking allowance from 100,000 VND to 300,000 VND/person/month...
From the efforts of the grassroots trade union, up to now, the average basic salary of employees in the industrial park has reached 6,117,000 VND/person/month; the total average income of direct production workers has reached 9,349,000 VND/person/month. In particular, up to 82.5% of enterprises have proactively adjusted to increase basic salary for employees, with an average increase of VND 213,000/month.
100% of enterprises in the industrial park pay Tet bonuses, with an average bonus of 1.6 months' salary, 91.6% of enterprises apply allowances with an average of VND 292,000/month; 95% of enterprises apply travel allowances with an average of VND 458,000/month... Meals for employees in the industrial park also reach VND 30,000/meal, higher than the general level of the area.
100% of enterprises organize periodic health check-ups with an average cost of VND692,000/person, significantly higher than the general rate in the region (VND464,000/person). Labor relations in Japan's industrial parks have always been maintained stably, without any collective labor disputes or strikes in the first half of 2025.
Bringing trade union activities into depth
According to the representative of the Hai Phong Industrial Park Trade Union, the activities of the Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park Trade Union Presidium Club have brought many specific results in caring for the material and spiritual life of employees, clearly demonstrated through data on salaries, bonuses, and benefits. The content of daily life is increasingly in-depth, closely following reality in Japanese enterprises.
