Female workers directly have many initiatives
This year 37 years old, but Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh - Head of the Ca C rough joining team of To Hieu Yarn Factory, Nam Dinh Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation has been working for 19 years. From a high school graduate, the process of being a direct worker has recognized Ms. Tinh's outstanding efforts. She always actively participates in emulation movements, for many consecutive years completing and exceeding the assigned output; personal productivity averages 105 - 110% of the plan/month.
From endurance, hard work, eagerness to learn and love for the profession, Ms. Tinh has had many initiatives and solutions. Ms. Tinh proposed to improve the operation of the ghép machine, helping to reduce the rate of rough strand breakage from 2.5 to 1.2%, saving materials, and shortening operation time.
She also participated in improving the arrangement of the rolling shaft and adjusting the speed of the machine, increasing the uniformity of the yarn, improving the quality of finished products, reducing waste products from 1.8% to 0.9%; applying periodic machine cleaning measures by shift instead of weekends, limiting dust, increasing the continuous operating time of the machine by 15 minutes/shift...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh's efforts were recognized with the title of Emulation Soldier at the Corporation level in 2022, 2023, 2024; was commended for initiative at the Corporation level in 2023; commended for initiative at the Corporation level on the occasion of Workers' Month 2025... Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh is a typical example of female workers in the Vietnamese Textile and Garment industry who are constantly rising up.
Commenting on Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Nam Dinh Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation said that Ms. Tinh is a person with a positive working attitude; constantly learning; enthusiastically participating in movements, finding ways to bring the business to develop more and more.
Female Trade Union officials understand what union members and workers need
Also a unit under the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, the Trade Union of Phong Phu Corporation has a fairly large number of female union members. Ms. Luu Thi Thuong Thuong - Vice President of the Corporation's Trade Union - in charge, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee said that the entire Corporation currently has about 3,300 union members, of which women account for about 60 - 62%.
With the characteristic of many women, gender-related activities are focused on periodic activities as well as women's anniversaries. According to Ms. Thuong, currently most female workers can take advantage of information technology to supplement their knowledge, so it is necessary for the Trade Union to grasp the needs of women to organize and implement activities in a practical way.
There is a lot of knowledge, if you just wait until the holiday to organize propaganda and dissemination, the information is no longer new. Therefore, it is very necessary to provide timely information. The Trade Union needs to guide women on how to approach information proactively... What Ms. Luu Thi Thuong Thuong shared shows the reason why she is a Trade Union official who is trusted by union members and workers in general, and female workers of the Corporation in particular.
Starting out as a female worker operating a weaving machine, being cared for and trained by the Board of Directors of the Corporation through labor production emulation movements, in youth union activities, trade union activities, no matter what role or position assigned, Ms. Thuong always strives, studies, improves her profession, personal capacity, sense of responsibility, overcomes difficulties to successfully complete assigned tasks.
In particular, she is very actively accumulating more experience, learning from previous generations to be able to apply and flexibly apply in specific conditions at the enterprise. In her role as Vice President of the Trade Union, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee, she is always exemplary and active in Trade Union work activities in general, and women's activities in particular.
Ms. Thuong proactively proposed and advised the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Trade Union/coordinated with professional departments to build and implement contents related to gender, diverse women's work, suitable for physical condition, gender, participation conditions, encouraging and motivating women to participate in large numbers.
One of Ms. Thuong's outstanding activities is coordinating with professional departments and divisions to participate in reviewing, amending, and supplementing in combination with inspecting and supervising the implementation of policies and welfare regimes related to union members and workers, especially female workers, in accordance with legal regulations and higher than the law: Performing periodic health check-ups combined with gynecological check-ups and cancer screening for female workers for 2,550 women; deploying 24/7 health insurance package registration for 1,833 female workers/3,428 officials and employees; postpartum allowance for female workers (300,000 VND/person); repairing, renovating/building new bathrooms and toilets at an appropriate rate when expanding factories and production workshops; paying attention to the rest regime for women who are pregnant/breathing young children, and health care regimes for female workers after maternity leave; maintaining good operation of milk pumping and storage cabins to create conditions for mothers who are raising young children (under 12 months old) to be able to use their milk.
Nearly 38 years of working at Phong Phu Joint Stock Corporation, including 32 years of participating in trade union work with more than 20 years as Head of the Women's Affairs Committee - full-time Trade Union, Ms. Thuong has always tried to study and train capacity, moral qualities, skills, and trade union nghiệp vụ, contributing to the executive committee to successfully complete tasks.
Returning to the story of Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Nam Dinh Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation. Ms. Thuy shared that for units with a large number of female workers, it is necessary for the trade union to do connecting work. Because, in these units, female workers have to spend a lot of time on work, so their need for exchange and connection is very large.
Reality shows that, in addition to daily care as well as traditional activities on gender holidays, female workers have a need for exchanges where they are connected and honored. Therefore, the General Corporation Trade Union in general, and the Trade Unions of factories (under the Corporation) in particular, have organized many activities that bring benefits and joy to women such as giving gifts, supporting women in difficult circumstances, being single mothers, giving gifts to children of female workers with good academic achievements... All of these things help women have moments to escape the reality of difficult life, stressful working hours to be themselves.
