I often wonder about the South
Those verses as a narrative, saying for his heart, an old father who always ached towards the flock was writhing in the smoke of war. From the capital of Hanoi, Uncle Ho's heart has never calmed the nostalgia for the people of the South, the people who are day and night facing the bombs of the enemy, resiliently clinging to the ground, holding the village, fighting heroic fighting for the cause of united river. He once asserted steel and filled with affection: "The beloved South is always in my heart." That affirmation is not only a sentence, but a truth, a sacred affection, immutable, a guideline for all his thoughts and actions. Because of that boundless love, Uncle Ho has repeatedly cherished, planned, earnestly expressed his intention to visit the land into a country, see firsthand, hugging the southern children.
Right from the early days the country was temporarily divided, the will to enter the South was always permanent in Uncle Ho's mind. But because of the great department, because of the safety of the revolution, many times that plan had to be put aside. In the middle of the days of the resistance war against the US to save the country extremely fiercely, when the people and soldiers of the South were suffering from plowing bombs, cultivation, brutal sweeping operations of the enemy, the nostalgia of the South in Uncle Ho became even more skinned. He once again asked the Politburo to arrange for himself a trip to the South. Uncle understands that the presence of people in the heart of the battlefield will be an invaluable source of encouragement, energy for the army and people of the South to firmly fight.
However, the war situation is increasingly complicated, the road to the South is full of danger. Moreover, Uncle Ho's health is no longer allowed to allow long and arduous trips. The Politburo, with the absolute safety responsibility for the supreme leader of the nation, has repeatedly considered and forced to ask him to postpone the trip. Although very sympathetic to the central decision, but the desire to enter the South in Uncle Ho still does not calm down. He made another suggestion, showing the extremely earnestness: "The distance is far away, not in the South, I can go to the Nam area". Five area, resilient central land, where the waves of the wind, are also part of the beloved South flesh. I want to set foot on that land, breathe the air of the battlefield, hold hands of the children who are directly fighting.
An open letter and a bold plan

At that time, to support the Southern battlefield, our army had to cross Truong Son, marched smoothly, and for many years to reach the Southeast. However, Uncle Ho planned to "crossing the sea level for 6 days", a bold plan, expressing extraordinary will and determination.
The pain until the last minute of my life
However, once again, Uncle Ho's intention could not come true. The war is escalating, the fierceness of US bombs and ammunition leaves no trace of the past. More importantly, Uncle Ho's health is declining day by day. The Politburo, after extremely careful considerations, once again respectfully requested Uncle Ho to stay behind to ensure his health and continue to lead the entire resistance war.
In a letter to the Central Committee and the Southern Military Commission in 1968, Mr. Le Duan conveyed the situation: “You are about to enter the unprecedented battle phase in this liberation war. The Southern people suffer a lot. Uncle Ho is very interested in watching the upcoming battle. I want to personally go to the South to encourage soldiers and compatriots, but the Politburo should not be able to keep my health, I need to keep my health. The soldiers and people of the South will bring all the spirit and forces into this strategic battle, winning the biggest victory to welcome Uncle to visit soon. ” That message contains both Uncle Ho's regret and belief and expectation in the final victory to be able to fulfill his wish.
The 1968 General Offensive and Rebellion, with the thunderstorms into the US -puppet head organs, "shocked the Pentagon", forced the enemy to go down to the war, accept to sit at the negotiating table at the Paris Conference. It was a great strategic victory, a turning point of the resistance war. But Uncle still could not visit the South. And then, something that no Vietnamese people desire has happened. In 1969, his great heart stopped beating, leaving infinite grief for the entire Party and the people. Wishing to enter the South, seeing the day when the country was unified, the river reunited with a house of Uncle Ho could not come true when the person was still.
Although the beloved Uncle Ho has gone away, the patriotic fire, the unified will and the deep affection for the South still looks forever, leading the way for the Vietnamese revolution. The flag of thought, genius and virtue of Uncle Ho still lives in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
