On December 25, the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (BLF) held a conference to review union activities in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
In 2024, under the leadership of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Party Committee, trade unions at all levels in the province made efforts to overcome difficulties, focused on studying, thoroughly grasping and implementing the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Resolution of the Congress of Trade Unions at all levels, achieving many positive and comprehensive results in all aspects of trade union work.
In 2024, the Provincial Labor Federation mobilized 2.1 billion VND in donations for the Trade Union Shelter Fund; supported the construction of Trade Union Shelter housing for 44 union members with an amount of 1 billion 650 million VND.
Implementing the Welfare Program for union members and workers, in 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor signed a cooperation agreement with 10 partners on the Welfare Program for union members and workers. The partners gave thousands of gifts to workers, totaling over 1.5 billion VND. 121,743 union members were able to buy discounted products from partners, with the value of benefits enjoyed by union members being over 7 billion 350 million VND.
The whole province has 289 grassroots unions organizing union meals for 210,411 union members and workers; the Program organized activities such as organizing birthday parties for union members, giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances... with a total cost of nearly 6 billion VND.
To date, 587/717 (81.8%) enterprises with grassroots trade unions have organized shift meals for employees, 130 enterprises that do not organize shift meals have distributed money to support shift meal costs; 100% of enterprises ensure shift meal allowances of 18,000 VND/meal or more; many enterprises have shift meal allowances of 30,000 VND - 35,000 VND/meal.
In 2025, the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on 8 key tasks. In particular, focusing on organizing the dissemination and effective implementation of the Trade Union Law (amended) recently passed by the National Assembly; continuing to improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; strengthening the review and supervision of the implementation of labor laws.
Organize well the activities to take care of union members and workers during the Lunar New Year 2025 with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet". Organize well the programs Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang, Tet Union Market, 0 Dong Booth, Union Bus, Tet Not Far From Home, Union Meal...
Further promote propaganda activities, raise legal awareness for workers; pay attention to women's work and union finance. In particular, proactively forecast the situation to propose appropriate solutions to innovate union activities, on the basis of ensuring sustainable employment and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation handed over decisions on personnel work to individuals assigned new tasks after the merger of Yen Dung District Labor Federation into Bac Giang City Labor Federation, establishing Chu Town Labor Federation.
Also at the conference, more than 650 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for excellent workers and building strong trade union organizations in 2024 were commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Confederation of Labor.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor organized the launching ceremony of the digital transformation application platform "Bac Giang Trade Union". This is a bridge connecting the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor with union members and workers. All information on policies, labor laws, entertainment and welfare regimes, etc. of the Federation of Labor will be easily transmitted via the mobile App, helping union members and workers to access information and policies quickly and promptly.
