On November 9, in order to promote the tradition of loving others as you love yourself, the representative of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union in Can Tho City organized the first Humanitarian Blood Donation Program of the Can Tho Banking Industry in 2024 with the message "Every drop of blood given, a life remains".
The program received enthusiastic participation and response from union members who are leaders and employees of units in the banking sector in the city and support in the coordination of the organization of the staff of Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital and Can Tho City Red Cross.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao - Chairwoman of the State Bank Trade Union, Can Tho City Branch, representative of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union in Can Tho City - emphasized that the first Humanitarian Blood Donation Program of the Banking Industry in Can Tho City in 2024 was organized with the desire to develop volunteer movements among all union members and employees working in the Banking industry in the area.
This is a meaningful activity of sharing blood to save people "A drop of blood given, a life saved", contributing to expressing the spirit of mutual love, loving others as you love yourself, the responsibility of union members and employees of the Banking industry towards the community and the whole society.
With 212 union members registering to voluntarily donate blood, more than 128 units of precious blood were received, each unit of blood reaching 350ml. These units of blood will be added to the blood reserve, contributing to the timely rescue and treatment of patients.
The blood donation program was organized by the Organizing Committee - representative of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union in Can Tho in accordance with the correct procedures and was supervised and complied with the doctor's instructions. The amount of blood taken was controlled at a safe level and did not affect the health of the participants; providing correct and sufficient certificates and compensation for blood donors according to regulations.
