In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the Lunar New Year 2025, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) has organized many practical activities to take care of the material and spiritual life of workers, especially those living in boarding houses.
Among them, the Banh Tet wrapping contest to give to workers and boarding houses has received enthusiastic responses from many union members and workers. This is an activity within the framework of the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Gratitude to the Party" and "Trade Union Tet Market" 2025 in Can Tho City.
The traditional banh tet wrapping contest was organized by the Trade Union of Industrial and Export Processing Zones in coordination with the Trade Union of the Education Sector of Can Tho City, with the participation of 10 teams from schools in the city.
Ms. Ly Hong Ngoc - Chairwoman of the Education Trade Union of Can Tho City - said that the teams participating in the Banh Tet wrapping contest selected their own ingredients, ensuring food hygiene and safety criteria to wrap and cook 100 complete cakes.
According to Ms. Ngoc, the contest aims to create a useful playground, bring a joyful and exciting atmosphere and encourage union members to celebrate Tet, while contributing to improving cultural life and preserving the traditional beauty of the Vietnamese people among union members and workers in the education sector.
After completing the delicious banh tet, the leaders of Can Tho City Labor Federation and the working delegation visited, encouraged and gave banh tet to workers, and also visited and gave Tet gifts at the boarding houses in the city.
Here, the leaders of the City Labor Federation kindly asked about the workers' living conditions, jobs, and income, and listened to their thoughts and wishes during the Tet holiday.
The program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" and "Tet Trung Tu Tet" 2025 in Can Tho took place for 3 days from January 11 to 13; presented 8,800 gifts to union members and workers from the financial resources of the City Trade Union, 2,700 gifts from Party, State and City leaders; 5,000 gifts of necessities; 2,570 vouchers for online Tet market shopping;... with the total amount of the program being nearly 6 billion VND.
